I seem to remember that the platforms at New Pudsey has platforms already long enough. Not sure about Bramley however.
No inclusion of Moston either.
Sam

No idea what they are being extended to accommodate, but I've been on a three set 15x with a 2 set Pacer attached and no issues.

A Grand Central 180 calls every morning and no issues with platform length at New Pudsey or Bramley.

Bramley is long enough for 4 same as Low Moor, but Northern are meant to be lengthening their trains along the Calder Valley to 6 so New Pudsey will like most of the other stations, still be too short for two 3 car 170's unless of course they have upgraded their SDO.

4 car trains often call at Moston, but the conductor sometimes has to lock the rearmost doors out of use after the train arrives (and then unlock them again before departure).

This alone means nothing - they have SDO.

I don't know the platform lengths but it was planned for a Deltic+8
The quoted platform lengths in the sectional appendix are 121m, which is roughly 5x23. My recollection both from the documentary I saw about the building of it, and from being on the platforms, is that it's actually got full-length platforms.

Are the extreme ends considered out of use and no longer maintained?

All I know for sure about New Pudsey is that there's a danger of turning into a Scotsman shortly after arriving there!

I don't get it. What is the connection. You will have to spell it out for me.

Because they only need 5 silly.
But you might think that if they are there they might as well do a proper job,
But then it will need maintenance and , and, and

A Monty Python sketch that was filmed there, not long after the station opened.

See

But, to be pedantic, the location of the bowler-hatted chappie's house does not resemble anywhere in the vicinity of New Pudsey station.

With the new signalling with more capacity due in Oct I wonder if the under utilised hugely expensive Low moor station will gain trains from the Calder valley at some point.

Also

With all the boxes except Hebden Bridge presumably to be flattered I hope any historic contents can be preserved.
Milner Royd box itself would look nice at Sowerby bridge or at least it's name and track diagram displayed at the excellent rail enthusiast run Sowerby Bridge station refrehment rooms.

What are they going to do, tell them how beautiful they look?
Various people associated with Sowerby bridge have written to Network rail re preserving at least some parts of Milner Royd box. They don't even bother to reply. This coupled with the pain I understand friends of Sowerby bridge have been going over the last year about a wall plaque to commemorate local railway men lost in the war just re-enforces my poor opinion of NR. Horrid out of control organisation.

I thought the boxes at 'Milner Royd' & Bradford 'Mill Lane' were listed?
The Historic England Listing website is currently having problems - but I can't recall either of these being listed - perhaps they are 'locally listed'? I confirm that Hebden Bridge is listed. But listing does not guarantee that a building will be looked after - I can speak from experience with St Albans South!
Regarding NR - it is important that people approach them with clear proposals and detailed information as to how those proposals could be funded and carried out. Even established centres - such as Didcot a couple of years ago - can run into difficulties with NR due mainly to the labyrinthian nature of their HQ and frequent moves of staff resulting in loss of continuity; and the fact they are trying to run the railway infrastructure rather than preserve disused buildings.
