I popped to Slough station for the first time last night between 2300 - 0030 and I was pleasantly surprised in what I saw, double headed 59's on stone, 57 on the sleeper, a couple of DBS 66's and a network rail 31 in Fragonset black.
Was I just lucky or is the Great Western line in that area a good place to go regularly ?

Hi to everyone as this is my first post.

Hi to everyone as this is my first post.

31459 was doing its rounds last night on 1Q12 OOC-Didcot Yard and back several times surveying the line.
There are several freight movements throughout the night and during the day you get quite a bit of freight mainly stone trains with any 59/66 on the front but also the car trains, MOD train and 6Z47 (Wednesday, Down 0200 Slough) /6Z48 (Thursday, Up 17:28 Slough) which at the moment is single or double 47s.

By the way make sure you let someone know you're on the station, pop into the Plat 5 office and give us the heads up ;) we don't bite!

That's a lie! FGW staff do bite! I've still got the marks to prove it :(.

On a more serious note welcome to the forum :). The GWML is a great line with plenty of friendly staff, alot of whom actually take interesting in the railways!

The WCML is great for freight workings too though generally with more modern locomotives than the ones you listed.

As devon_metro says it's the Customer Assistance office.
I'm only really rostered to be in the P5 office once a month but can cover it if anyone is absent ;)

And we at SLO are a friendly bunch just don't mess about like some of the kiddies (and adults) I've seen on youtube.....
