Jusr saw this on the BBC: On board the new Jerusalem-Tel Aviv fast train http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-46035960.
On board the new Jerusalem-Tel Aviv fast train
It's been a long time coming, but Israeli commuters are finally able to board double-decker high-speed trains on a new link from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv.

Construction has been plagued by engineering and planning challenges, and the last section of the line is still not open. The route has also angered some Palestinians, as part of the track runs in tunnels under the occupied West Bank.

Transport Minister Yisrael Katz hopes it will eventually whisk passengers from secular, liberal Tel Aviv to Western Wall, one of Judaism's holiest sites.

It looks like German regional / s-bahn stock?

I've not been to Israel but every time I've seen a TV program on Israel which has shown trains they've been in DB Regio livery. I noticed it on Simon Reeve's Mediterranean series, Michael Portillo's series, Chris Tarrant's series and I think on BBC Travel Show as well.

Israel has been operating basic DB Dostos on a large number of services for some time now, although a major difference is that the DBSOs are also fitted with a generator for train supply. The locos on the Tel Aviv route are brand new electrics though.

I assume it has really badly needed airco? Does it have a kind of Eurostar checkin, because Israëli and Palestines do not Always match (go together.

Travelled on this service a couple of weeks ago when we were in Israel. It runs twice hourly at approx 01/31 past the hour from Tel Aviv airport.Stock is DB like double deck carriages with traxx 147 clones numbered in the 3000 series as motive power.
Journey takes about 25 minutes, quite a lot of route is in tunnel, however there a couple of impressive viaducts. The station at Jerusalem is apparently about 80 metres below ground level.

BUSes in IS mostly have some kind of special entry as you see in airports to detect possible explosives. Trains/stations-as the system now mostly also runs on the RavKav chipcard, have at least the usual entry gates for such.
There is an extensive report on seat61 about IS-railways, and it also pictures the usual rolling stock. This new service was free for some time after opening, DK if that is still so. The old line to Jerusalem used DSB-style rubbernosed sets. I assume this is now closed/out of use?

Bombardier TRAXX AC3 locos - also built in Germany - and very similar to DB Class 147.
