Operating the service this morning are LX10 AUR, LX10 AUV and SK17 HHC. The E300 still in LG colours, but do have a destination display (not electronic). Number of passengers alighting in the High St looked similar to Newport Bus and N.A.T.

They're are E200's. The demonstrator won't be costing them anything.

If they're from Ensign they are very recent arrivals at Purfleet as they haven't appeared on any of the recent lists that the company supplies to various internet groups.

Only a suspicion as Ensign is a common destination for ex Go Ahead London vehicles with similar vehicles of the same batch having passed through Ensign recently.

At least they quickly got themselves on their feet again. And they do seem to be advertised for Ensignbus as 29 seaters so there you go.

Could have also got 29 seaters as single door but who knows if these are only being borrowed for a temp solution until better stock is prepared.

According to reports now on Facebook Foxstar have gone from Newport. Seems sudden though not now unexpected.

The Foxstar Bus Newport Facebook page has also been taken down. Seems like they really are done, another dodgy cowboy independent bites the dust!

That said i better not speak too soon as he'll probably appear back under a different name in a few months time! I do feel sorry for the staff though who will now all be out of a job.

As you say its the staff to feel sorry for, they're the ones who've lost out most here. I noticed an argument on another Facebook page a short while ago between the Rhys Hand and another on the company.

Indeed, it's the staff who will feel the real impact here, hopefully with the bus industry always being short of drivers they'll be able to settle in at another operator fairly swiftly.

There's no shock, without looking back i'm fairly sure he's had arguments on this thread before. His Twitter outbusts seem pretty frequent too.

I've just driven much if the route and seen no Foxstar buses.

Hopefully staff will get paid and find new jobs quickly and passengers who've bought tickets in advance will be refunded.

No doubt it will all be revealed once the PI comes round. I wonder what the point of getting those Enviro200s in was.

I saw someone mention online that the night this debacle all kicked off they were driving these E200's around Bettws at 3am and someone else mentioned the timetables had been removed from a lot of the stop the next day. A stage managed exit to keep the story told previously going perhaps?

At least they're stepping up support passengers who may have been affected, especially after their name was effectively dragged through the mud earlier this week.

I overheard a Foxstar driver telling a passenger that Newport Transport had removed the timetables.

Possible though I'm not sure how entirely plausible given the timing of it happening.

Do Newport Transport own the timetable cases? If so this may well have been within their rights to do, as in that case Cityfox would essentially have been fly posting.

(I know it varies from locality to locality as to whether the Council or the operator provide flags and timetable cases - typically where the Council provide them they also print the timetables).

Surely the shelters and timetable case would be the property of the council, who I doubt would be all that bothered.

It varies. As I said, in some areas flags and timetable cases are operator provided, and in others it's the Council that does it. But usually where the Council provides them they also print the timetables, which are typically one big sheet so there'd be nothing for them to remove.

Perhaps it may have been wiser to plan their move into Newport more carefully (perhaps try for some contracts first before trying to sustain themselves on their own)?

Indeed, it's pretty evident now they weren't covering costs and couldn't pay for their vehicles, i wonder if drivers were getting paid?...

It must’ve cost a small fortune running the Newport operation over the past five months; I’m all for innovation and ideas but Rhys needs better business advice before embarking upon expensive ventures. The ‘tease’ concerning starting routes in Cardiff also indicates that Rhys fails to learn by experience.

There’s still the two bus Susscom/Babcock contract and that’ll need two of the three licence discs, handy that!
