Er... Half the country? Chafford Hundred is the busiest one (thanks to Lakeside), although it's been and gone.

Random example: Emerson Park.

Does this include island platforms that can count as 2 platforms, or just one numbered platform?

Surely this is incredibly easy. All you have to do is list stations on single track lines that don't have passing loops.

More difficult would be stations with only one platform on a line that isn't single track.

Malton.

Hmm, now New Cross and Queenstown Road Battersea have "odd" platforms - i.e. three through platforms on four or more through lines (although New Cross has an even number of platforms due to the London Underground bay). I think Knowle Halt in Hampshire used to have 1 platform with three running lines.

Two from the Metro - South Shields and South Hylton. A seperate question - there are three stations that have more than 2 platforms on the Tyne and Wear Metro network - which ones?
