Thats fine until units are reversed formation, as the 444s currently have been with diversions!Just been informed that each set will be lettered inside and out, so for stations with short platforms passengers must look out for stickers X or Y, depending on which unit is leading.

Confirmed: “On 10th June Class 442 EMUs will be introduced into passenger service”
“There must be a second driver to Monitor the trains routing”
“To simplify the number of restrictions, we have stipulated 442s are not permitted on the UP and DOWN slow lines between Waterloo and Basingstoke. There are also platform limitations at Waterloo”
Absolute joke.....the trains are either ready or not!!
Is this the reason 159s can't divert off the main line and say run via Staines / Hounslow if the line via Wimbledon was blocked? The particular issue in the London area is inwards from Nine Elms, other restrictions remain elsewhere as always was the case with 442s and in some instances same as with 159s.
The 442s always did have platform restrictions at Waterloo. They were not ‘go anywhere’ first time round.Confirmed: “On 10th June Class 442 EMUs will be introduced into passenger service”

159s have run via Staines in the past on planned diversions. The issue with unplanned diversions is crew route knowledge and paths on the Windsor lines. Is this the reason 159s can't divert off the main line and say run via Staines / Hounslow if the line via Wimbledon was blocked?
Apologies misread.I was thinking each coachNot really?as I understand it Each 5 car unit will have a letter of the alphabet, so for example 442401 will be unit A, 442402 unit B and so on. When the guard arrives they make a note they’ve got unit C and unit G for example. Passengers will be told they need to be in unit C to alight at Clapham junction (unless you’re a wheelchair user but we won’t go into that!)

Might the 1P16 PMH-WAT be first? That is also due to be a 442. Though is there only 1 442 which has been signed off?1B88 0628 Southampton Airport Parkway - Waterloo (arriving 0744) should be the first service, provided all goes well.
The return service would be 1B95 1848 Waterloo - Poole .
If you read back a few pages it is fairly clear that the 442s will run with Class 9 headcodes, so look out for them appearing. Last week the 1B88 and 1B95 passenger services mentioned in the post before yours were being altered (ie replaced by STP versions) to class 9 and back on a day to day basis.Might the 1P16 PMH-WAT be first? Coach letters lasted all of about a week in the 458/5s, and the company wonders why the Windsor Lines has such a high rate of passcom activations at stations with short platforms.Just been informed that each set will be lettered inside and out, so for stations with short platforms passengers must look out for stickers X or Y, depending on which unit is leading.

The planned diagrams for weekdays, Sat and Sun are in this thread, post #3241...Any one got a list of 442 Saturday diagrams or are they the same as the weekday diagrams?
Is the 1B88 / 9B88 just a short term thing then? The planned diagrams for weekdays, Sat and Sun are in this thread, post #3241...

We don’t really know. The two specific services 1or9B88 and 1or9B95, that are being regularly discussed are important to SWR because they are not actually running yet, so they produce much of the discussion. BUT I would expect all the other potential 442 services that are currently running with 444 or 450 substitutes would also become class 9.Is the 1B88 / 9B88 just a short term thing then?
Apart from Yahoo group ,which I can't find, where can I get unit diagams from?Is the 1B88 / 9B88 just a short term thing then?
I guess you mean all the other 160 odd 444/450 diagrams? You won’t find them online anywhere public I can think of. The Yahoo group (that you can’t find) usually gets carriage working notices (CWNs) rather than diagrams for the southern commuter TOCs.Apart from Yahoo group ,which I can't find, where can I get unit diagams from?
