See post #3580 for some pictures. I did ask SWR when they expect all 18 442s to enter service, unfortunately the expected date is December 2020, so still quite a while awayI can't wait till they are fully deployed,
Does anyone have a picture of the interior?

What is the latest on the retractioning? All seems quiet on that front. I’m guessing that they won’t introduce all nine 10 car sets before that happens. Logic would seem to dictate that some are retractioned before introduction to enable the remainder to be done. Having said that logic would have dictated to do the retractioning and then the refurbishment; not the other way around.
Two more questions:
1. How long is it expected that the retractioning of each unit will take?
2. Which is more expensive: the retractioning or the refurbishment?

Is it "undergoing", or as I suspect, is it "on hold, awaiting parts"?2 are still in Eastleigh shop undergoing AC conversion.

Possibly the 442 is unable to power the Aircharge due to it being an older train. So they only installed plug sockets. (I may be wrong)This isn't a big problem, but why do the SWR 442s not have the new Aircharge tables like the refurbished SWR Desiros?

Of course going with USB only, means that you're not going to be able to plug a laptop in to charge, or any other charger which has a hard wired cable for that matter.
Classic - thought it might be. Seems that SWR are trying to blame anything else except the 442s for disruption!9B88 received a change of aspect G-R on the up fast in the Earlsfield area which is now rippling through the morning peak.

Why would it make a difference having a 442 involved rather than a 444? Assume this is because of the track restrictions?A change of aspect is unlikely to be the fault of the 442s, just bad luck that they were the service involved.

I think you might have misread TEW’s post. He wrote “unlikely”, therefore suggesting the 442 was not the reason...Why would it make a difference having a 442 involved rather than a 444? Assume this is because of the track restrictions?
