Could it be 387 driver training?
Could it be 387 driver training?
It was GBRF last time (with the two 50s) so presume it would be GBRF again.Interesting. Are GBRf doing the honours again?
Though I'm guessing now we're back in a full on lockdown any further training will be suspended?
When will entry into service be?

Drifting slightly off topic, who trains the trainers?May 2021 at the earliest, I would have thought, if fault free running hasn’t started yet. And that date only holds good if proper driver training starts in about March but before that you have to train the trainers.
That's what I thought, but according to #460 it's not an issue. After enough units have been accepted, undergone fault free running, and sufficient drivers trained.
The current pandemic situation, including the latest lockdowns; make all three of those tasks harder.
The engineers at Porterbrook/Brush Traction I’m guessing, as they converted the units. I can imagine some Thameslink staff as well as it is, in most senses, still a 319 (just with the addition of diesel engines)Drifting slightly off topic, who trains the trainers?

GWR‘s 769930 & 769946 should be delivered to Reading TCD by this time next week. Delivery on 11th & 12th (Loco-hauled).
769943 which is currently at Reading is allegedly making the reverse journey and heading back to Burton. (No idea what the issue is!)
Seems unlikely that anything associated with GWR would be using Reading Triangle Sidings. Is this diagram related in any way to the introduction of the 769s?

Correct. Also 0F03 onwards from Guildford to Eastleigh.Seems unlikely that anything associated with GWR would be using Reading Triangle Sidings.
37610 on driver route learning for Colas reported elsewhere.
Do you know what the start location is? Last time it was Burton sidings.A couple of Driver Comp Managers and the Depot Training Manager went up to Allerton for 319/769 training.
Deliveries have been pushed back 48 hours. Now Wednesday & Thursday.
On the Bus, Off the Bus! Hurry up and ………………wait!
The paths are already in for the moves on Wednesday and Thursday from Burton sidings (which is where the 769s are reported to be):Do you know what the start location is? Last time it was Burton sidings.
When the S Stock was first delivered, and even before it was delivered, Bombardier distributed technical material to London Underground and offered those writing training material the change to drive a unit at Old Dalby. I would imagine Wabtec to have arranged for quite a few people to get behind the controls and in all the cupboards, even if the unit went nowhere.Thameslink haven’t had 319s in what, 3, 4 years? Unlikely they’d be involved. Northern/West Midlands much more likely, but this time round they’re not.
While your rank and file ordinary drivers will generally receive peer to peer training, ultimately that isn’t always practical - think about it, who trains the trainers on all-new types? Which is why, subject to appropriate risk assessment and mitigation, it’s perfectly legal for senior training staff to essentially train themselves with just manufacturer produced classroom material - a number of senior competence managers at GWR did 319 classroom and handling, so they’re not starting from absolutely nothing.
Reported elsewhere as 37884 and 769930 on delivery to Reading (and 769943 going back to Burton). Hopefully this one will be allowed out of the depot in due course. I assume that having a 'friend' capable of rescuing it (ie tomorrow's delivery) will permit this.
