Limas are reliable little models for their age too. A bit like the Mainline wagons. Will go forever with good care!I used to have a Lima 101 and it was a good model. Definitely captured the prototype well.

Those all sound very nice. I've always liked that "fag packet" livery.Well all the carriages came last week. I now have 2 mk3's in fag packet livery, enough mk2's in fag packet livery, to do a day and night service. The bachmann mk2a's are enough for my bachmann 47's, and my lima class 50.![]()
Absolutely love the amount of space you've got to run trains there - and that Battle of Britain. Looks like Winston Churchill to me?A couple of arrivals from eBay recently, with a couple more to come.
First up was a rake of 3 lighted Pullmans (queen of Scots coach pack I think) to replace my triang and railroad ones. The rake is now fully lit and looks rather good! Can't quite make it out in the photo thoughView attachment 101408
Next up was a rake of 3 Mainline MK1 SK's for a bargain at under £30. Makes my MK1 rake up to 8 coaches, currently working behind the 76

Anyone know roughly when Mainline MK1's were produced? I think they have outlasted their guarantee by a fair bit!

That looks lovely. How anyone can dislike that livery I'll never knowPicked up a running Lima 101 in NSE for my latest micro layout project (NSE micro diesel terminus). Needs a bit of work on the windscreen wipers, but is pretty good still!

Was it very expensive? Trying to find something like that for a good price is quite difficult in my experience.
(Also it would be super to see some photos of that micro-layout on the "Do you have any projects on the go" thread!)

Ah cool - not bad then. ThanksI got it on ebay from KJB Models (on their preowned section). Was about £65.
Looking at photos online, that looks like a very nice model - even better with the weathering I expect! £100 is most certainly a bargain for a detailed model like that.Just got Bachmann 66711, professionally weathered for £100, bargain I would say!
Those both look really nice. I'm not really into German railways but there's something about the double-decker train concept that interests me. Am I right in thinking the Doppelstock uses an engine at one end and that DVT (for want of a better term) at the other, like a Class 68-hauled train over here? One trip to Ipswich and £275 later. Oops.
Meant to get the DB Regio Doppelstock pack bit those VTG tanks will look great behind the BR 152 I have.

Those both look like very nice models - and that's a bargain for the B12. Toy fairs do provide some good offers!Small toyfair held locally, got this for £25. A nice runner. Triang B12 as preserved 61572. Also got a nice GWR centenary coach for a tenner
That does look very nice! This is my latest acquisition, ViTrains Regional Railways liveried 37414.
I went mad![]()
and treated myself to an O gauge class 40. 40 155.
As an OO gauge man, the idea of an O gauge model for viewing purposes is interesting!I went mad![]()

The trouble is I buy these things and they never get run. Good for display though. Now that my friend is an absolute beauty.![]()
That is lovely - but I must admit I'm a bit more interested in the 14xx next to the Class 20I went mad![]()

I think a cl47 in O gauge is coming out soon with the large arrows, If I've enough money I'm going to treat myself to one of those.
In the summer my N gauge layout gets put away because I'd rather be outside.
Welcome to the forum!Recently I acquired 2 highly detailed "Rivet Counter" ET44AC's, both were $254.99, including international shipping (3 - 5 days) which was $96.48, I'm considering getting another one of these at some point in the near future, I already have another one on pre-order which I'm expecting to recieve at some point next year.
I've not had the chance to get them running yet because my layout is still heavily work in progress, and until that's done I won't be running them anytime soon.
Both models are equipped with DCC & Sound.

Now the question is do I leave her 'as-is' or do what I really need to do and convert her to an ETH-fitted example?
(She was a relative bargain so I've less qualms about making some minor mods to her, handsome as she is 'au naturel'...)
It's a third-hand Bachmann model, '00' gauge. That looks like a nice model. Which manufacturer is it from?
I suppose whether it's worth modifying it depends on how easy it would be to do - I don't know what would be needed to change it to what you want but if it's just a case of adding a few things, then I'd go for it!
-Peter
Ah OK - so a decent model. I expect you'd probably be able to buy spare bits from other Bachmann models to make it into the version you want - Peter's Spares (no connectionIt's a third-hand Bachmann model, '00' gauge.

You're very welcomeHelpful tip, thanks Peter.
I'm away to look them up, because funnily enough you sort of psychically pre-empted my next point about needing to find somewhere that sells the requisite bits 'n' bobs needed to "convert" my 47/0 into a 47/4

Oh no, they sell locos too...You're very welcome
Haha - hope you find what you need. I'm sure someone on here can help if you need it (@Cowley or @reddragon off the top of my head might have some knowledge about these things).

And they've a lovely 85 which looks so good
