I’ve just had a look at that railway. It’s very good indeed.

Even the little things like the marks on coaches are replicated. It's brilliant (and actually who I bought those new models from ).

@Peter C will be aware of this already from Twitter, but I'm on the final stages of my micro NSE layout (set in Dungeness). Hence the platform road getting 3rd rail (as a low cost fictituous electrification from Ashford)!

I like the hybrid DMU lash up. There used to be all kinds of strange sets like that back in the day.

A 20/3 in DRS colours is my latest. Runs very well, but I find the sound file doesn't seem quite right. The 20s have a very distinctive tick over, which somehow seems more muffled.

That’s interesting, I have the DCC sound class 20 from the Whiskies Galore Train set and it sounds goods.

I was a bit disappointed with my recent Bachmann DCC sound Jubilee, the sounds are fine and the model is excellent but the speaker is too small so they are too quiet.

I think it’s maybe worth waiting for Youtube reviews to appear before buying, but that’s difficult when it’s a popular model that might sell out.

The Bachmann 20/3’s do at least look amazing.

Sounds lovely. The muffled sound suggests maybe the speaker's covered by something - that or the sound hasn't got a lot of space within the bodyshell to reverberate (if the speaker is, in fact, in the bodyshell and not in a tank underneath)?

Ah OK. I've never heard one of those sound-fitted locos so I can't comment on specifics.
The thing about railway modelling is that if you don't like it, there's nothing saying you're wrong; we all have different opinions and that means there's a wealth of ways to rectify the situation should the need arise.

Bought a preowned Hornby Terrier "Earlswood" for the first time & have ordered a couple of preowned Mk1 coaches from Hattons.

Terrier is for my Inglenook layout & the Mk1s are to converted into an RTC themed test train for my 80s themed micro terminus.

Bought a nice J72 as the goods yard shunter, as can be seen still reminiscent of a nuclear aftermath scene (no scenery)!
From Bachman, split chassis so pickup on all wheels (no daft Hornby traction tyres) lot's of weight & excellent crawler.

That's a very nice looking model and I'm glad it's a good crawler, always important on smaller layouts and for shunting purposes

Just bought a nice GWR 57xx pannier tank. Same Bachmann split chassis for weight & pickup on all wheels that has now become my preferred standard. Excellent crawler though with very slight eccentric stiffness yet to be identified.

Contacts ? is that pickups or some internal trickery ? Looks very nice, shame about the faults.

only 1 axles seemed to be making contact, jerky on DC and undrivable on DCC sound

My new bank suggested I test my new debit card/account on an online purchase, so I purchased a preowned Bachmann (not Mainline) Class 46 Peak.

Peaks did run into the Southern on MGR & Derby-Brighton passenger workings, so in my world it's been borrowed to work micro services on my layout
