Congratulations. By the sound of it DMIs and MMIs are getting back to normal, so hopefully it’ll be soon for you.

Then you won't be progressed forward, you'll be able to use your assessment results again for another toc unless they have different requirements or can reapply normally after 6 months with the same company if more vacancies arise.

I prepared lots of examples using the STAR technique ready so I had things to use on hand. Always compare any previous roles you have done to driving a train and how they can be similar. Maybe monotonous tasks, long hours, progressive learning etc. Research the qualities of a train driver and use these in your examples. Research Southern and the values and use this also. Then relax and be yourself! Use genuine examples and you will be absolutely fine! Good luck

Hi,
Congratulations to those that have got their interviews lined up!
I was just wondering, those that are still waiting for their assessment day, has anyone had any updates? The last one I got was in August and it said I would get an update in Sept, but didn’t hear anything. I was thinking of emailing HR?

Having waited since February, received an invite to an assessment day this morning. Had a choice of 6 dates in Oct, Nov and Dec.

Best of luck. Could I ask who the email was from ? Just the HR resourcing. Or a specific name ?

What’s the scenario if everything is passed and you’re given a contract, could you then be sitting waiting for courses to start for a long time or even after training could you be sitting waiting for a start for a long time?

Just thinking if it ever got that far what the possibilities are of waiting around on the lower salary are.

Hi mate. Still waiting for my assessment date. I find it strange that they only run two assessment days a month. No wonder it’s taking so long to get through everyone.

You'll only receive a contract / have medical when they have a start date for you. Otherwise, you'll just be kept in the pool until they have information on availability of course dates.

I’ve got an assessment day in December, does anyone know how long the assessments take?
It’ll be all day paper tests in the morning until around 1/1.30 including hour lunch. then the computer tests. Should be out of there around 3.30
