180106Hi all,
Can anyone help with the unit number of the GC 180 which formed the 08:26 KGX to Sunderland this am?
20 is up in Scotland worked up on 4S47 last night.Good evening everybody. Can I please ask to help ID a class 90 I saw today? There are three listed as being in GC livery, 020,026 and 029. I saw 029 on the Welsh end of Crewe Electric this afternoon. There was also one I saw in the Arriva Traincare depot (as it's described on google) on some coaches in the shed and I wasn't quick enough to get the number. I know 026 has been listed as being on Crewe Electric at least since the electricity business grounded them, but 026 is my last 90. Is there any way of knowing if the one in the Arriva depot at 1430 this afternoon was 020 or 026 please?
Hi,
As I was heading from Piccadilly to Huddersfield this afternoon I went past an often seen rake of bright red DB schenker wagons (stone I think?), I think somewhere around Guide Bridge. I often see these but haven't noticed a loco on them previously. There are often 66s and the odd 70 nearby but I've not seen them on these wagons. As I was going past I got a glimpse of a cab roof that looked like a 47 or 57 - that quite distinctive rounded cab roof, rounded both side to side and curved down to the top of the windows, but with a prominent boxy protrusion in the middle. I really don't think it was any of the usual suspects but maybe I'm imagining things. Do 57s ever end up on such trains?! Can anyone work out where I mean and what locos were there today? Thanks
A 60 is also possible - it has the curve, but I really thought it looked more 4/57 ish
Thank you very much. That seems likely! Now I know what to search for, you are right it is Ashburys not Guide Bridge. Guide Bridge is where I've seen the 66s and 70s. I'm usually working so am not always too sure where the train is! ThanksIt's Ashburys aggregates terminal I think you're on about, and yesterday there was a DB 60 on it behind the trees. I spotted it as I was heading home.
Possibly the same loco today.
