Not any more, I don’t believe. They’ve all been removed from registration on the system.
Many thanks 43096. So they've all gone from Long Marston and anywhere else where the odd one might have been lurking (or were all the remaining ones at Long Marston)?

Can anyone provide date(s) when the last few units were moved to Newport please?

Visible in photo are cars from 456003, 360204, other 360s. I'm not sure what the car at the back of the photo is, but I'm pretty sure it's not from a 455/7.

I have 455702 still in service - and it's not included in Siemens Staines' list of units not in service / off-lease / scrapped (post #1,196) either.

Well there's an image that just about sums up how badly lost the UK's railway is.

There’s three issues with that statement:
- 455702 is still in service
- the Heathrow 360s are 5-car so there’s 10 vehicles been sent to Newport
- the driving cars on the 360s are motors, not trailers

Can anyone say if there are any plans to get 458529 up & running again despite being out of service for over a year?

Nope, me neither! :s

Are we all looking at the same image? Half of a 456 on the left, the front end of some 360 cars, on their sides, to the right?

5722 is having its return to service exam

EDIT 05/09 : now declared as serviceable spare unit.

455722 has returned to passenger service and is on 1D14 today

Is this a bit of a one off, or has funding been sanctioned to repair and restore a few units.

Presumably this funding is only taking place as the 701 saga trickles slowly on.

Not a one off. It's all part of keeping the 83 units going. The issue a lot of the time is waiting for materials in terms of lead time, funding isn't an issue that features really. We get a decent delivery of spares for the stopped units and back they come. 5901 is next on the comeback trail.
