In terms of first class no longer being a thing on all Southeastern services, they are in the same pool. Not sure why the change in what sub-classes form the 10 car services is rather systematic looking.
465/9s still have 28 seperate diagrams, they are not in the same pool as the 465/0/1s.

I wonder if removing some of the equipment covers would result in enough airflow to prevent the resistor banks from overheating. It would be a bit of a bodge, but if it works it works. Some of the equipment covers were removed on the BREL units, but I believe that was because they wouldn't fit back on after the Hitachi upgrade.

Even so, they still seem to like to keep /9s and BRELs separate where they can

Without drifting off the subject too much I heard that the /9 have a higher speed limit of 90mph compared to the other subclasses. Is this correct?

Many years ago someone edited the 465 Wikipedia article to say 465/9s could do 90mph, but that has long been corrected.

Where did you hear that? I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some truth to it. I would guess that the body was lighter than the BREL body. It could be that they are capable of 90 but limited to 75 for safety etc.

Confusion may have arisen as on RTT (& similar sites) services operated by 465s are ‘timed for 90mph‘, but the trains are only permitted to do 75

Why would they have a much higher mileage? They were made (as /2s) just after the /0s so if anything BRELs have a slightly higher mileage
I take no responsibility for the accuracy of this information, but from a random selection I've just checked :

UnitLife mileage
4659012,255,819
4659102,255,376
4650012,059,000
4650102,070,806

So it does look as if the /9s have a higher total mileage.

How do you get those figures?

I do see more of them in the depots during the day though… not to mention there’s normally a pair in Faversham sidings. BRELs are used more intensively
I’m glad to know you regularly tour all the depots keeping tabs on what subfleets are doing what

Anyway, does anyone know why 465912 has regen on? And do any of the others have it enabled?

TOPS, Web Gemini, Internal system ?
I'm sorry, I searched up Gemini Rail Group and nothing came up regarding 465 mileage figures. Is it possible to send me a link here?

Web Gemini is an industry source where you can lookup units and get some basic information. Not quite as detailed as TOPS but you can search where units are in the country.

Needs a login and I'm not 100% but it when I access it it needs to be on our company intranet.

It was via Gemini, but it's not public. You need a login and to be on a company device to view it.

How did you get the mileage into a table ? I can't get any filtering options up. Just checking units/locations and then manually searching for the data.

Is there various interfaces/versions ?

Cheers in advance

Just by manually searching for the data and putting it in a table on here I'm afraid. Just wanted it to look tidy

The rheo brake is only working up one end. Went to work on it this morning.
I suspect that is the resistors overheating - this was often the case with the 365s, one coach would have rheo operating and it would cut out at the other. Sometimes the rheo brakes will turn themselves back on - particularly after standing at a terminus for a while.
