Just sat the RAAT, I think it went ok. Not sure. I didn’t time myself and wasn’t counting how many questions I actually did. It didn’t feel like that many.

Does anyone know that if you run out of time, will it cut off the test mid question?

I answered my last question, and it went to end of test with the logout screen, so not entirely sure, or confident for that matter.

Hi people, fellow applicant here, just completed the RAAT, found it pretty easy, although some of the answers were definitely worded to catch us out. Good luck to everyone, please keep me posted on how you do!

Ah the group bourbon, I actually think it's one of the nicer tests in the psychometrics to be honest, at least compared to the glop test and tones tests... practice 100% makes it easier, hopefully you've already found this online one I'm linking below, it's very accurate (even down to the dot positioning!) to the real test:

Yeah I've got the test downloaded, thanks. Big pressure on to pass the psychometric as you are 2 and done for life.

Also did the RAAT and answered all. Found it really no bother, probably all wrong

Any idea that once we’ve heard back from the online testing, will the assessments first or the interviews first but also when are we due to hear back about the online testing?

Don't expect anything until the end of next week at the earliest I imagine. I believe people have said last time from the OPC it was interviews and then further testing.

Does anyone know where the initial training takes place? I've applied for the Edinburgh depot.
It takes place in Derby and they should provide hotel accommodation if your travelling far afield, (someone correct me if I’m wrong)

Just done them mate.

all multiple choice.

1. was situation reasoning, mark 2 answers you would class most relevant and least likely.

2. concentration test finding errors in information 50 question in 20 minutes i think.

3. verbal reasoning from a passage unrelated to rail / technical. 12 questions, changing after 3/4 questions.

so I filled out my application then gave me these tests to do straight after. complete within 3 days.
Quality feedback brother!

Wishing you the very best with your application.

I guess it's safe to assume literally everyone who applied for the roles would of been invited to the OPC test? Meaning that now they are reviewing resumes etc.

Potentially. I suspect that those who either didn't bother completing the RAAT or didn't meet the required standard on the RAAT test, will not have their applications looked at.

Just received the unsuccessful email. I did not meet their standards. Any lucky one here? I wish there could be a way to know how many questions I got wrong e and how many right

I was also unsuccessful. I thought I hadn’t answered enough questions, only got to mid 20‘s. Commiserations to those who were also unsuccessful.

Also was unsuccessful. only completed 23, found it easier than expected but had other issues at home & too focused on the practising of any verbal reasoning tests getting abit worked up on them for 5 days, was passing them but some were intense to do in the time.

reason for doing this was the LNER application on 24th also.

passed both situational and concentration tests but failing at verbal reasoning but interrupted at the time.

Me too unfortunately . The email states that "Your results for the online tests will remain valid for 6 months. So, you will not be able to re-apply for a trainee train driver with Cross Country"

For those in the know... Other TOC's would be OK to apply to I guess then? . As not an "official first life" psychometric fail?

No, RAAT is a pre-psychometric test

Has no bearing on your two lives for the national train driver psychometrics

Commiserations to all those unsuccessful
