You want lights at your stations, right?

SP are the DNO for Merseyside/North Wales
Technically SPEN ( Scottish Power Energy Networks) is the DNO. Rather than just SP . Thier Retail arm is SPERL ( Scottish Power Retail )

Has it been revealed yet which other 777s will be 777/1s? Thanks

If I am right on this and its possible I might also be wrong, apparently it's the even numbered units which have been selected to run the service beyond Kirkby.

This would make it 777140, 142, 144, 146, 148, 150 & 152, I think this has been asked before on this thread but not sure on what page it was asked.

Do you know where you got that info from? Wikipedia doesn't list any beyond 140 (which was at InnoTrains)
But that even numbered pattern would work quite well (Although I'd prefer if it was just 777101-108)

Thanks. Presumably they've done it like this so that they can just renumber the 7770xx to 7771xx if they fit any more with batteries.

Out of interest, do the individual coach numbers of 777140 end with xxx140 or xxx040? Thanks

All I know was that it was mentioned somewhere on this thread that it would be the even numbered 777s that I listed which would be going beyond Kirkby.

Unfortunately I do not know the individual coach numbers carried by 777140

Just to clarify that any info on Wikipedia is only as good as the information that is uploaded by any individual who types it in whether that information is right, wrong or in between. So read it with caution and may not be upto date either.

It has been confirmed that the original numbers for the Merseyrail Class 777's were numbered from 777701 to 777053. It was originally thought that No 777047 to 053 were going to be the battery fitted ones. My understanding, since then has been amended for the battery fitted ones to be Class 777/1 with No 777040, renumbered to 777140 and the remaining even number ones (upto 052) afterwards to be Class 777/1.

In then meantime, No 20142 / 20189 with assistance of Class 43, No 43468 & 43480 delivered Class 777, No 777012 and 016 to Kirkdale Depot late this afternoon on 6Q77 ex Crewe CS. This leaves four Units remaining at Crewe. Updated location list below:

Kirkdale C.S. = 001, 003, 004, 007, 008, 009, 010, 012, 013, 015, 016, 018, 049 and 140.
Crewe C.S. = 002, 005, 006, and 014.

Edit (19:45hrs): For some unknown reason, missed 004 being at Kirkdale, list now amended.

With more 777s having arrived from Crewe today, can we expect a couple more 508s to go off lease and scrapped soon?

Indeed, that is why I asked here.
Having it up to date is something I'd want to do but I don't think I can use this chat as a "reliable source".

20142 / 20189 leading from Birmingham New Street with barrier vans 017-6 / 018-4 with 43480 / 43568 on the rear.

I saw this up at Warrington today. Took me by surprise as such an unusual rake!

I've seen several instances of people updating unit info on wikipedia using speculation on here as a source. Thankfully, most of that stuff gets removed from wikipedia, but its always worth checking the source.

Is the second powercar and the 20s dead in transit in these runs? If not, the acceleration must be amazing.

Wikipedia lists 777140 as the sole confirmed /1 so far precisely because it's the one that was shown at InnoTrans. It's cited - as can be seen by anybody who cares to check - to this Modern Railways article:

No further numbers are listed because it appears that they have not been satisfactorily confirmed.

Just to add, the reason for the numbering is pretty simple:

Even numbered trains are built in Switzerland whilst odd numbered units are built in Poland. The Swiss factory is the only one producing the traction battery variant, so the traction battery equipped units will all have even numbers.
