Unfortunately, some of those morons in the videos are quite notorious for these actions. Their TikTok pages are known for going into unauthorised areas (within shops etc.) and being overall idiots. It's a shame as it puts a bad name to the majority of teenagers/young people using public transport in a proper manner.
I came on here to say this. 'Mizzy' goes into the backs of shops, takeaways etc to provoke a reaction - part of his 'free roam' series to show teenagers that 'the world is a simulation'. It's always the easy places though - I know that some places (including a well known department store where I used to work) have security monitoring far more extensively than the shops Mizzy picks on, and if he tried a similar stunt there, I have no doubt they would detain him and hold them until police arrived (indeed, there was a holding room in the basement of the staff area for shoplifters).
I'd not intervene on this because bar mucking about with the horn they can't do a lot without the driver's key, which they won't have, and there is the risk of being stabbed. Reporting it to staff, either on the spot if present or 61016 if not, is the best plan in this sort of case. They are clearly kids, not terrorists.
999 would be valid, but probably fairly pointless as they'll have run off before a response car arrived, so it is more about finding out who they are and sending someone round for a chat without, as they say, tea and biscuits.
Quite. I wouldn't dare risk it - not only do they have 'backup', as you say the risk of being stabbed is not worth it. I would likely go and discreetly report that to station staff but if I thought I'd be spotted then texting is the right course of action.
There are more comments on this one than usual videos that this is a step too far, which is interesting. I think given the extent of these videos Mizzy puts up, the BTP will have absolutely no trouble identifying him via this video.
There was similar a while ago where someone entered a tube cab. Transport for London commented on it on TikTok so attention very much was drawn. I can't remember the account handle now unfortunately.
People in 2000: Let's install a CCTV on the train to record any crime.
People in 2023: I will record my own crime.
Yes. Many do this on TikTok. Strange isn't it... Often it eventually catches up with them (one particular individual I remember used to record himself committing fraud (to very high values) and he thought he was being clever, but IIRC it became the focus of a journalist's investigation, who managed to identify this individual and the police took it from there. All because he wasn't smart enough to not just keep his illegal activity to himself...
