Just to add my pennyworth to the livery of 777013. I can believe posts saying 777013s Eurovision livery is not so bad in the flesh as I have just seen 350104 in the same/similar at Euston last night. Better than some of the more angular rainbow liveries I have seen. Granted it was still clean and so not grubby/tired/faded - yet......

Our local paper reporting overlord steve rotherham will be introducing half a 777 service to green lane very shortly.

It says the old and new trains will be working in tandem, which will happen anyway with the phased rollouts that have been happening. I suppose it could improve as the 777s have better acceleration so can keep to 50x time while stopping, but what they are promising and what they will deliver might be different than what people think.

This of course would also confirm the Chester line is next, which surprises me but the politics checks out (please Green lane instead of trying to win over everyone with as many lines as possible, which makes sense as the Labour strongholds look as strong as ever).

Can I ask a question, How much of Ormskirk Line is now 777 operated? How long will it be before it’s fully 777 operated? 1 - 3 months maybe, I suppose?

If I understand it, there will be 4-car 777s runnning on ALL lines in the near future, in order to maintain route knowledge whilst infrastructure works continue, and deliveries of modified 777s are awaited.

I went from Liverpool to Ormskirk and back yesterday on 777s. Going North (777013), the Information display told us the next station was "Sandhills" (at every station); returning south (777004), "Moorfields" was always shown as the next station.
Does the information system lose the GPS signal in the tunnel sections, and sometimes fail to reset itself after leaving the tunnels ??

A few cancellations today (06/05).

0635 LVC-KIR terminated at Sandhills due to a door fault (777013).

0713 KIR-LVC intended to start at Sandhills due to the above fault, however due to an issue with 777004 on depot (the replacement unit) the full trip was axed along with the return 0735 LVC-KIR.

1925 KIR-LVC cancelled due to a door fault (777009).

Clearly a software fault on that particular Unit as it does work when on the Underground part of the system.

The PIS systems are usually a combination of GPS and wheel rotation (to measure distance). But easy for them to get confused, the peps would regularly claim every stop was Sandhills!

Yesterday 777007/009/049 were on the Kirkby line and 777010 was on the Ormskirk line.
At Southport there were a number of stored units including 777016/006 in the station whilst 777144 was one of about three or four which were on the old through station avoiding line.

There were actually two on the Ormskirk yesterday.
