Over zealous rule interpretation?

"A poster for a West End play featuring a wedding cake was banned by Transport for London (TfL) because it was seen to promote "foods high in fat, salt and sugar".

The ad for Tony n' Tina's Wedding, a dinner show at Wonderville, Haymarket, featured a three-tier sponge cake."

NB. j would have posted the quote using the "quote" button but it's greyed out on the Amazon fire tablet I am using at the moment!

Is this 'reverse advertising' or some such?

I'd never have noticed Tony n Tina's Wedding if they'd just run the advert.

It's good to know that TfL have got our best interests in mind when banning this advert.

You know you won't be tempted to eat a deadly slice of Victoria Sponge, when you finally get home, after being delayed due to staff shortage/signal failures/strikes/<insert excuse of the week here>

This is sadly typical of the world we now live in, where the people with hardcore and uncompromising views (mostly on the right, it has to be said, but not in this particular case) get to call the shots.

For reference, just put
[*QUOTE]
and
[*/QUOTE]
around the text you want to quote, but without the * which I had to use to prevent this being interpreted as a quote. If you're not following the quote with more unquoted text then you can omit the second one.

TfL actually have many concessions selling junk food on their premises, so it's difficult to see the rationale.

Interesting as I feel they are coming in equal numbers from the left

It’s interesting to ponder that there isn’t a ‘Just Stop Cake’ campaign involving sit down protests, invasions of tennis at Wimbledon etc so maybe cake isn’t as harmful as TfL seem to think.

Interstingly TfL themselves had a poster promoting ‘easier to use ticket machines’ featuring, wait for it…… a sponge cake with jam and icing in the form of the classic roundel logo. I’m not sure when the poster dates from but it’s not that long ago. Is this an own goal or what?!

I can't remember the last time that I impulse-bought an entire multi tiered wedding cake...
