Hi all,

I’ve been invited for an interview for G9 position at Three bridges. Can anyone tell me more about the location / work culture? I always see G9 at Three bridges advertised externally.

Is it a less desirable roc to be at compared to others?
How much can I realistically expect to tack onto my basic?
What’s the shift like and times. I.e start and finish times and days off (I know it’s 12 hours a shift)

Does anyone work there or know about the location that’ll be happy for me to pm them?

Hey mate, did you receive an email invitation for the interview? I passed my Assesments about 10 days ago and still waiting for the potential selection email for interview

Just started week 3 with Julian at IST, Struggling with retainment, especially as it seems to need to verbatim! Anyone got any tips on how to learn? Name all 14 reasons to pass a signal at danger seems to be an ever growing mountain!
I have recently completed my IST training and I have not found it easy retaining the information or trying to memorise things. I recommend breaking things down on to flash cards and with passing signals at danger reasons breaking them down in to groups. So defective etc etc. Keep going with it, trust the process and put the work in and it will pay off. I remember at week 4 how on earth am I going to remember all of this but it is in there. Enjoy the experience too.

Hello all,

I’m aware the training salary’s have changed a lot for new starts. But for internally i have read from the ops deal email sent out that the ‘3 month rule’ as per the red book still applies.

Does this then mean (for example) a G2 who has been successful for G8 role can claim the grade 3 months after it was advertised to grade 8.
Or do they claim the new training salary which is grade 4 after IST? Or am I off the mark completely….

If you’re graded staff already you should be able to.
Apparently this doesn’t apply tk banded staff…

I interviewed last week for a Grade 9 role and didn't have to take the Signaller Scenario Test.

From what I can gather the Scenario Test is used in applications from grade 2-8.

I've had three interviews for roles between grade 2-9 positions all were competency based and focused heavily on the NTS and why you want to work for Network Rail/be a signaller.

Good luck with the interview, feel free to message me if you require any advice.
Hi @SalzH a few questions if I may:

Did you get through with the Grade 9 Role?
Was it for a ROC?
Do they go through all 8 of the NTS at interview stage?

Thanks in advance

Just received an email stating recruitment for the grade 6 WMSC has been paused whilst the business reviews its recruitment requirements. Interview has now been cancelled. Anybody else had the same?

What’s WMSC? I’m still waiting on correspondence for an interview after passing the assessments.

Dress code for signallers is the uniform provided. The light blue polo's, and the darker blue fleece. Not sure what trousers are provided.
Some more enlightened boxes don’t have a dress code at all, though uniform is still available if you wish it.

Though I’m pretty certain Cardiff ROC isn’t among the enlightened in this regard.

I got the same email except mine said they would reschedule my interview. They just didn’t know how long I would be waiting.

13th October then every four weeks. Cut off for pay is the Saturday before, so anything earned/worked between 8th and 13th falls in to following months pay

The biggest thing I can say is don’t try to pretend you know more than you do. I’ve got a professional driving background so obviously had a lot of relevant things to say, but I was honest about having no knowledge of the railway and didn’t attempt to hide that fact.

Be yourself, try as much as possible to stay calm!
