Most TOCs allow people to skip doing OPC psychometrics as long as they reach their standard and are still valid - usually up to 5 years, do TFW only allow up to 2 years though?
Yes, they are only valid for 2 years with TFW but nationally they are valid for 5, it just depends on the TOC.

As in there is going to be an advert for trainee drivers based at Cardiff soon?
I’d be keen to know when this will be?

I can see they have advertised for shunter drivers and feel tempted to apply. Would this be a good foot in the door if mainline was your ultimate goal?

Hi,

Anyone who has started a course:

When do you hear about what it entails, start times, what to wear etc? Due to start in 5 weeks but would like to know so I can plan childcare etc.

Thanks

Hi.

Ive got my computer tests and possibly mmi next week.
Am I able to change the answers to the mmi questions i put down after the paper tests?
Ive since thought of one or two examples which would be better suited to the questions.

Hi all, are TFW supposed to be advertising for trainee train drivers this month? I have heard conflicting information and am really hoping it will be this month

Yes you can change your answers. If your successful in the computer tests you will be given your original questions sheet back and given a short amount of time to read over the questions again and change any answers if you decide to.

Has anyone managed to slip through to the DMI before their 6 month period between applying ended or is this impossible?

Yes you can…You will be reminded of your answers in the interview, and asked if you want to stick with them or change them….

Off someone who works in Tfw, but I don’t think anyone truly knows, will just have to keep waiting patiently!
Everyone I've spoken to at TfW say they are still short in Cardiff, hence the continuous recruitment every 5-6 months. Last advert was end of August, so another one is likely soon, probably before February

It will be soon. They have just been sorting out the assessments for people who already passed the application last time around.
Plus they are getting ready for the qualifed drivers to fill up the loco link.

But keep checking and be quick, it's definitely soon

Still waiting to get onto an assessments following being successful in the initial paper sift from the last recruitment advert. Surely they will be looking to get these complete like you say before opening the doors again for more applications :)
