Any update on when the 333s will get TrainFX?

And will a few of them still have the Siemens PIS system when they start running Doncasters?
October is the word in the cess, as to where, well, I have heard twitterings but not confirmed yet.

Nope, and at this rate it's likely they'll still be on them when they start doing Doncaster later this year.
Fingers Crossed. The Old PIS stays for long enough. Im hoping to do the Doncaster line when they start running them and I'm hoping I can get the old Announcements while I can

Cheers. Hopefully that'll mean a few of them will still have the Siemens system when they start running Doncasters in December

Out of curiosity. Can you get decent speeds between stops on the Leeds to Doncaster stopping service?
Yes. Certainly between Wakefield and Adwick 100mph is easily achievable where the line speed allows.

Anyone know when 156478 will enter service had it 2 weeks now and it’s not been out
Not for a while yet. Still needs Northern mods and conversion exams into the Northern maintenance regime to be completed, plus the wheels aren't too good so needs a few tyres.

Apologies if I've missed this- what's the plan (if any) for refurbishment/repainting of the ex-WM 323s now with Northern?

I think Dave posted a few weeks back there is currently no funding for anything (even a paint job) on the 323s but it's being looked into?

There's been quite a lot happening in the background since I wrote that. The ex-WMT 323's will now be getting painted into Northern livery (only) with 323205 being the first unit due in on 2nd Sept. Interior refresh is a different subject and still open for discussions.

So, Will an interior refresh still happen at some point down the line?
(even if it's a few years down the line)

I've just seen a photo of a 333 unit with a smashed up cab? Does anyone know the unit number and what happened to it? (Here's the photo and website for context) https://penline.co.uk/traction-blog-july-2024/

158752 is now at Kilmarnock for C6 (involving internal and external refresh as well as mechanical work).

Brodie Engineering recently welcomed the first of 8 Northern Class 158 Units into its Caledonia Works for C6 Overhaul, Interior Refresh and Exterior Paint and Re-livery. The units leased via Porterbrook will go through an extensive C6 programme including a range of examination and overhaul tasks on areas including bodysides, cabs, windows, electrical circuitry such as relays/MCB's, doors, flooring, toilets, gangways, interior seating and furniture. Is there a reason why they are doing another refurbishment/repaint on this unit? Wasn't this refurbished and repainted a few years ago?
This is a periodic major overhaul, including repair to bodywork so the unit would need repainting after the work. In addition, the 3 car 158s were some was of the very first Arriva repaints with 752 being done in September 2016, so after 8 years a repaint is due anyway.

If you're taking everything out for overhaul you might as well freshen the interior up - some of the 3 cars never got fully painted internally too.

Oh no! Does that mean that the three car units will now have their comfy original seats replaced by those ghastly Fainsa Sophias?
I don't know the specifics of the work, I suspect the original seating will be retained unless it's cheaper to replace. @diligentdave will probably know though.

No, there's no plans to fit Fainsa seat on the 3 cars. They will retain their normal seats.

One of the ex-EMR 156s has recently been reupholstered with blue Northern moquette, but with no additional interior works (panels/carpets etc.).

I hope the padding has been sorted too, I was on 408 the other day and you could feel the seat frame.
