That initial rate of £51k would be a significant drop for most qualified drivers. Will still probably attract some ScotRail drivers at Polmadie but it's not the go-to that it once was.

Agreed, £51k for a qualified Driver is ridiculously low

Yeah, this needs to be dropped now if they want to attract qualified drivers now that others have caught up!

Yeah I’d rather do 100 stops a day on trains that don’t have air con and leak when it rains…
I would not be doing 100 stops a day on trains that do not have air con or leaks when it rains as it would be a failure and would not leave the yard! Feet up and coffee time !

Is there anyone with a roster/links for Preston that can share please? Also, details of floating days off, pension type for current starters, and any other helpful info. Many thanks

I was offered an interview ages ago. But ultimately decided not to join after speaking to multiple people who work there already.

Was that for this specific recruitment campaign?

Can you say the reasons for your decision? There seems to be a little negativity towards the Avanti driver role, possibly t&c’s not great but no one seems to actually say what these issues are. It would be helpful to hear some details. Dm if you don’t want to say publicly. Cheers

I've been invited to a rules test and Depot tour. Still don't know whether I'd even accept an offer if successful, lots of pros and cons to consider.
Which depot did you apply for?

Maybe they've still to finalise the candidates, I only heard back last week. The last time I applied I got a rejection email from them so they should reply either way.

Last time I applied, I had silence for months then a rejection - I'm not holding my breath!

About a year ago I did the rules test then they rang me a week later for an interview for Wolverhampton. After speaking to a couple of drivers at Wolverhampton I decided against it. For me overall it’s a horrible 40 mile commute up the M6 plus some of the comments on driver relationships with management etc were not positive.
