Hi all,

Bit of a random question, but can anyone advise how many drivers SWR have at Woking depot?

Thanks!

Thanks for this :)

What’s the link of 8? Seems small for a separate link?

8 is the new starter link - signs all routes out of Woking apart from Guildford - Portsmouth Harbour. You go into that link when you go productive and move into Link 1 (the link of 64) based on your seniority and vacancies in that link.

Ah okay, thanks, very much appreciated.

This is a visual representation of the routes signed by the driver at Northern's twenty traincrew depots. I know the colours are bit pants but with so much overlap it's hard to find something that works. Obviously not all drivers sign all routes at their respective depot. This is based on personal knowledge and the information contained within this (excellent!) thread. If you see any mistakes please do let me know. It's about 4.7 MB so bear that in mind if you're on data!

Edit: Link to the program I used (free, usable on desktop only).

Edit II: Apologies also for the jankiness around the south-west; the program I used doesn't like having more than four lines between a given pair of nodes.

For Northern at Leeds everyone signs the triangle (Leeds-Skipton-Bradford FS-Ilkley), York mainline, Manchester Victoria, Knottingley, Neville Hill, Holbeck.

No link is required to sign 156s (some may have it on their card still but it’s not required).

Everyone signs 150, 155, 158, 195, 331, 333. Only those in the York via Harrogate link are required to sign 170s.

Once you’ve learned all of the routes above and when there is space you are moved at random to one of 4 different links (2A, 2B, 2C, 2D). Link specific routes are either:

Blackpool and Goole
Doncaster and York via Harrogate
Sheffield and Nottingham
Sheffield and Blackpool

Link 1 (I think) adds Carlisle.

Thanks, I'll get Leeds tidied up and updated asap.
As of new TT Se Charing X will no longer sign past Sevenoaks and will lose 375s
Thanks, I'll get this changed when the new TT comes in. I've got some TfW changes to make them as well, plus anything else that's brought to my attention of course

From the December timetable change Worcester depot lose booked work from Smethwick Jct to Birmingham N st via Galton Jct and Monument lane. This is for both drivers and guards. The reason behind it is that only 12 out of 70 odd active drivers at Worcester still sign it meaning the one job that goes that way is often uncovered and cancelled. From the change the service runs via the Lickey and Camp Hill to/from New st non stop between Droitwich and Birmingham both ways.

There is still the option to divert the service to run via the Hawthorns in/out of Snow Hill when WBA are at home on an evening kick off.

That's a shame. Many times on my commute to Brum we were diverted via Galton Bridge if there were issues via Bromsgrove.

Out of interest, I know there is one booked service via Camp Hill to BHM but can't see one back from BHM, do crews only sign it one way?

It is, I was diverted that way a few sundays back due to a tree down at Barnt Green on the overhead. My last booked trip that way will be later this week.

As regards camp hill, we sign both ways.

From the timetable change the late evening service that went via Galton Jcn goes via Camp Hill both ways but we have lost the morning service in which now goes via Selly Oak

Worcester will gain additional work via Camp Hill when the stations open next year.

Manchester Victoria, Blackpool N and Wigan can have 323s added to the traction, first cast offs are out next week on BPN to the Airport work.

Shrewsbury will lose Llanwrtyd on Sunday, only going as far as Llandrindod from then on.
Thanks, I'll get them in when I change everything with the new TT.

Are Buxton not signing them or is their booked work just on the 331 MIA-BPN diagrams?

I'm not too sure so left them off the list. You'd imagine as they ramp up next year they will get to Buxton depot soon.

As I do every Timetable change, I have updated the lists. As well as those mentioned in the posts above, I have also:
Removed 221 from all Avanti depots where they remained, and route knowledge to Barton under Needwood for Wolverhampton depot.
Added 379 training to start soon for Great Northern depots that currently sign 387
Added 175 training to start soon for GWR Exeter (GWR), I assume there will be other depots too (Plymouth (GWR) & Par?) but I understand Exeter (GWR) will be first to see them
Updated the training status of the TFW Valley Lines depots, and added in Taffs Well as coming soon. I understand the routes and traction for this depot will be the same as for all other Valleys depots, but I'm awaiting confirmation.
Removed Glasgow from LNER Edinburgh

As always, a massive thanks to all of the contributors who help keep this list up to date - and please let me know if there are any mistakes. I'm also starting to suspect that my Scotrail list has some inaccuracies, so I'd be particularly interested to know if that is the case.

Do you mean a specific depot (Edinburgh or Newcastle)? They're still down as running 4 trains per day on RTT. They have however ceased their Glasgow services, and I've removed Glasgow from Edinburgh's list. That was a change I forgot to mention.

Newcastle have lost Aberdeen work, all gone to Edinburgh.

I think the Stirling service is going as well.
Just checked RTT and that does indeed appear to be the case. I'll get Stirling removed from Edinburgh as well. That would even more explain why they're now working all the Aberdeen services.

*Edit - I'll leave it in for now, I think they might still sign it as a diversion to Aberdeen when the Forth bridge isn't available?

With Newcastle losing Aberdeen, how do the Inverness turns work now? There'll be nowhere near 12 hours' rest between arrival and departure at whichever hotel they use for lodging in Inverness. Surely they're not getting Newcastle drivers to pass up from Edinburgh to Inverness one afternoon and drive back the next morning? Then again, stranger things have happened...

Lodge turns do not require 12 hours rest.
