Brilliant! Thanks a lot for this. Have to say I have dipped in and out of this forum throughout the process and found it/the users extremely helpfulEverything you'll need to know for the whole process can be found using the search function on this forum.
To save you time, here's the link to traction, just find your company and station.
Different Driver Depot, Route and Traction cards
One of the most common questions asked on this forum is what do train crew at a particular depot sign. Given we have an excellent thread listing every depot for every TOC in the country, and we have staff representing most if not all TOCs as well, I've been attempting to collate a list of every...www.railforums.co.uk
It’s pretty much everything you would expect in an interview, as mines went on it felt more relaxing. Couple icebreakers to start then it’s the general of what skills you have from your current role that transfer to being a driver etc etc. It’s all about you, they want to know what kind of character you are and your way of thinking in certain situations.I have my DMI on the 21st of this month, has anyone had one recently and got any information on questions asked? I have a friend within ScotRail who has given me some info but just trying to be as best prepared as possible.
I would definitely prepare for the MMI, I was told by others that it was informal , like a friendly chat , it was anything but for me . Longest , hardest interview I have ever done , and I paid the price by using up my two livesHello I have my last assessment and mmi next week. Any suggestions on how to prepare and potentially anything to catch me off guard that I should consider ?

Brilliant, thanks for that. I have done my research and getting prepared as can be. Just worried seeing some posts saying about researching ScotRail and worrying how in depth they would go into that. But your reply has put me at ease a bit. All the best with your assessment and MMI all going well!Hello I have my last assessment and mmi next week. Defo research Scotrail though, eg, MD , Scottish gvt, no of stations, aims values, traction out of your depot, signalling used, and relate all of your answers to safety and following rules.Brilliant, thanks for that. There's new courses starting every couple of weeks. I would say this is the case all year round. But that doesn't mean you have a choice so if you have something on I would pull out all the stops to start on the date they offer, cos who's to say they'd offer another date. There are so many applicants you might lose out.Hi everyone. Does anyone have information regarding when courses actually start ? Like what months of the year

Hi. If it’s the 1st assessment there won’t be any interview pal. The DMI comes after that if you successfully pass the 1st assessment.hi folks.
I’m attending the assessment center in glasgow. Just looking for some advice.
i’ve been practicing the tests from the example booklet and on a book I bought a while ago. managing to get 13 - 14 lines accurately on the dots test (within a minute) is that acceptable?
It also says there’s an interview based on the Situational judgment examples. is this the extent of the interview? or should i be prepared to be asked about scotrail, signals, routes, etc (which i’m studying) or should i just mainly focus practicing for the assessments?
i’m heading down to central tomorrow to chat to some drivers for tips. Is there any other recommendations to further prepare over the next 4 days?
Cheers for the response. Going through the thread, i got a bit confused about the interview/assessment stages.Hi. If it’s the 1st assessment there won’t be any interview pal. The DMI comes after that if you successfully pass the 1st assessment.
you get two minutes per sheet on the dots test and 13-14 lines in 2 minutes is still more than enough (if accurate).hi folks.
