As the poster above has said, why apply for a full time role if it is your intention to go part time? This generally isn’t how railway jobs work.
That being said I’m curious as to what the rules are around part time. I’ve applied for full time CSA 2 and understand that training is 9-5 hrs.
Eventually once fully trained up and a few months in can I make the transition to part time working at all?

Training starts at 9am and the finish time is around 5pm, but depends day by day, depending if all the topics have been covered, and the trainer is happy and confident that you understand everything, however their is homework completing modules.
Training starts at 9am and the finish time depends day by day, depending if all the topics have been covered. Most days I was done around 2/3pm. There are part-time jobs that are released every so often, so if the job post is FULL TIME, don't expect to be able to do it PART TIME!
Training is officially 9-5. You may finish early if you're getting through the topics, but suggesting a daily finish of around 2-3pm is not helpful. A 'cutaway', as they're known, is a bonus, not a guarantee.

Good luck with the second week, bet you are excited to finally start with TFL. If you don't mind me asking, when did you get your conditional offer from TFL - I'm trying to gauge how far away I am from a possible training date, I'm guessing you were one of the May or June candidates.

It’s a high volume application. You will be waiting a while. I saw someone on another thread who waited, I believe, nearly two years for their start date. We’re all in the same boat. It is frustrating, but it will be worth it.
We’re all in the same boat, well a lot of us anyway. It’s been almost 6 months wait for me and from what I’ve gathered if you got a conditional offer in august like me then expect training dates around the summer. But even that’s no guaranteed until you get your contract emailed to you.

I’m sure that I applied from approx November 2023 and did all the assessments and interviews in between the offer which I received in September 2024.
Note: I am a night time CSA.

Damn lol, i was told they’ve started with July last month, so perhaps they’re on the first couple days. The lady did also say there’s a large amount of July Candidates and they’re not getting as much training slots as previous campaigns. Hope you get contacted soon

You should definitely give them a call if that’s the case. I’ve heard there’s a longer wait time for those who applied for part time or night tube but if that doesn’t apply to you then I’m unsure. Also check to see if you’re looking at the right email just in case. It would be the email where they are sending you a conditional offer that’s the date you need to look at. If it’s still June then as mentioned before give them a call because I’ve also heard that they are now on to July.

Its just worrying because i know someone who was waiting for 18months, and tfl ended up cancelling the whole campaign and asked candidates to apply again. Hope thats not the case for us

You need to attain an 80% pass mark (as is with previous tests on 1) Fire safety and 2) Tickets and CSID). Multiple choice questions which are weighted by score marks. I think the lowest score a person got in my group was 92% so it’s not that difficult, but I would advise that you read the work books early in the week and pay attention in the class room.
We were told that by passing this test we were “qualified” as CSA1. So after successful completion of probation all the CSA2’s in my group will essentially be CSA1. As I am on the night tube, I think I automatically start out as CSA1.
We also did some live practice SATs at a station which was fun and was also given a tour of the station.
For the remainder of the week, we will focus on (live) escalator operation followed by (class room) first aid. The following week we’ll be at our respective stations for a week (some two weeks) to conduct familiarisation and live training.

They called me today and offered me a training date at the end of March, which I accepted, and there was another one sometime in April. I’m glad the wait is over and people with July offers should be getting their training dates now.

Yes training dates are now being offered out for March up until April. I received a call and email yesterday.

Congratulations to those July offers who have been given training dates, glad to see you won't have to wait much longer to start.
I'm early September so probably one of the last applicants, hopefully I won't have to wait until August (my estimate) to start my training. If I'm offered training before that I'll be over the moon, anything would be fantastic.
Anyway good luck moving forward and glad to see people getting into the roles after reading this thread for the past few months.
