Does anyone know all or some of the routes operated in the early to mid 90s before they were bought out by First ?

Also had a niche question about the Badger Hill area now its served on either side by Hull Road and Field Lane but did buses ever go into the estate directly ?

Thanks to anyone who replies

Yes they did. Not sure of the previous numbers but by 1990 it was York City and District 21 (Badger Hill -City Centre -Beckfield Lane). IIRC the 5 served Badger Hill in the Rider York era.

I've got some 1991/1992 timetables on order. The routes they show are;
1991:
10/10A Stamford Bridge - York - Copmanthorpe (10A via Bishopthorpe)

1992:
3/X3 Acomb Park-Woodthorpe - City-Strensall
3B City- Strensall via Stonebow
7/7A/7B Chapelfields- City- Tang Hall
8 Fulford- City- Bur Dyke Avenue - Rawcliffe
9 Badger Hill- City via Fulford Road
9B Broadway - Piccadilly
19 City- Clifton Moor via Clifton Green
20 Osbaldwick - City - Nether Poppleton
21 Murton- City- Nether Poppleton
28 Fulford- Piccadilly
I also have a 1993 timetable for the out of town routes;
35 York- Holme on Spalding Moor
36 York - Selby
79 York - Tockwith
87/88/89 York - Tadcaster
164 Poppleton - York Sixth Form College
165 Tadcaster Road - Oakland's, Lowfield and Manor Schools
494 Tadcaster - Selby

From memory there was also the 1, in City and District days Acomb Park- City - Wigginton but IIRC Beckfield Lane- City- Haxby and Wigginton with Rider.
It's not a comprehensive list but I can't find/remember the others, although I do recall buses going to Skelton, possibly route 18 but don't quote me.

Just to add to the info from @Leedsbusman here is the route in Badger Hill of route 21 from the April 1990 York City and District timetable

Plus there were routes 6, 14 and 15 as seen in the rather nice video below, although frustratingly you can't see where they were going apart from one bus terminating at Piccadilly!

Apologies, because the posts have been merged the photo of the Badger Hill route is now below the link to the video!!

A bit of further digging has revealed the following from 1992;

1/1A Wigginton -City - Beckfield Lane
2/2A Haxby - City- Foxwood Lane
X1 Sixth Form College - Wigginton
12 Sixth Form College -Haxby
22 Haxby (Usher Park)- Huntington Road - City
14/14A City- Elmfield Avenue - Huntington (Monks Cross), 14 via Jockey Lane, 14A via Huntington North Moor.

And from 1991;
10A Piccadilly -Bishopthorpe
15 Ashley Park - City- Tadcaster Road via South Bank and Bishopthorpe
15A Ashley Park - City - Tadcaster Road via South Bank
25 Stonebow - Elm Park Way
962 Hull Road - Sixth Form College

By 1994 buses on the 1 were showing "Haxby and Wigginton" as the destination, so I don't know if routes 1 and 2 were combined by then.
Also by 1994 there was a 5 Beckfield Lane - City- Badger Hill. It may have run earlier but I haven't found an older timetable as yet. I seem to recall vaguely that buses worked off the 1 onto the 5 and vice versa at Beckfield Lane.
And apologies if the forum's thing of merging posts pushes the photo further down again!!
