4056 is back in service, paired with 4042 this afternoon.
Becomes more difficult to tell as I'm sure we'll start to see much quicker turnaround of trains being taken out of use and scrapped now.
Though 4010 and 4040 are still at gosforth, would have thought one or both of these would've gone by now.
Apologies, it returned to service in Feb. Anyone know the state of 45 & 54?I have 4059 down as operational. Is this definitely not the case?
How would it fit in with the theme of the museum? The latest era is the 1950's way before the Metro.I was at Beamish museum yesturday where I asked if a Metro train is going to be preserved there. They wearn't sure.
Can anyone on here shed any light on the possibily??
When I was there 18 months ago, they were building a 1980s housing section. How would it fit in with the theme of the museum? The latest era is the 1950's way before the Metro.
I don't know about the 1980s section, but they said that that any Metro train would be a refurbed unit! I would love if they could fitt he faux wood vinia that used to be on the lower sides benieth the windows. When I was there 18 months ago, they were building a 1980s housing section.
Be nice to see it get the production livery of white and yellow with the blue stripe when it does eventually goBeamish are set to get 4020. Most likely it would be placed in storage until such a time where there was a section of the museum that a Metrocar would fit in with.
Rode 555020 from airport to regent centre last Friday, quite comfortable ride of them, waiting to see more of them4064 has been withdrawn from service and there is photos on YouTube from TWMfan showing parts being taken off from the units.
Definitely feels more now the beginning of the end for the old fleet, hoping to be up there shortly to sample a ride on one of the new fleet and make the most of the old ones.
4064 off for scrap today? As seen from passing Metro just now, it was being moved by 2 other Metros, 4085 on rear, past the washer.4064 has been withdrawn from service and there is photos on YouTube from TWMfan showing parts being taken off from the units.

I would love to know how big Beamish could grow! I first visited in 1971 and there was a big field, a couple of old shops, and the building that is now the hotel! Not forgetting the digger and mettal press that is now part of the entrance. How would it fit in with the theme of the museum? The latest era is the 1950's way before the Metro.
I think you mean 1950's section. Its very good, well worth a trip to see. When I was there 18 months ago, they were building a 1980s housing section.
The museum map specifically said 1980s... Was that a misprint?I think you mean 1950's section. Its very good, well worth a trip to see.
1950s at; https://www.beamish.org.uk/remaking/news/new-1950s-exhibits-openThe museum map specifically said 1980s... Was that a misprint?
Maybe..Will ask next time i go.Absolute bargain of a visit. The ticket is valid for 1 year from time of purchase.Being an OAP it works out about £1.77p a month, isit every day if you want.Do able in a day from Preston, stop off on return in either Barnard Castle or Ripon for fish n chips. The museum map specifically said 1980s... Was that a misprint?
Thank you; please do - I suspect based on what everyone else is saying it was a misprint, but it's too far for me to just go and pop in myself.Maybe..Will ask next time I go.
It was probably a misprint, but they are likely going to make an 80’s area considering how much history the region has in the 80’s (the metro, the miners strike, the first steps of privatisation, etc)Thank you; please do - I suspect based on what everyone else is saying it was a misprint, but it's too far for me to just go and pop in myself.
I don’t believe so, the metro is 1500v dc.Are the overhead wires at beamish the same voltage as that of the metro? I know it's not a tram, but it'd be nice if it could run.
