Bad wording on my part there! I did indeed mean what's changed to allow Optares in etc.

Wonder why Manchester need more Solos? Presumably to replace some of their older mini-darts?

Latest fleet movements to affect Chorley the first of a few..........

In from Preston to Chorley..........47486 & 47487
Out to Manchester from Chorley..47001 & 47002

34679 & 34680 will move out over the summer with an additional 3 Optare's in TBC if brand new or not.:D

Would not suprise me in the slightest if 34679 & 34680 arrived at Carlisle...

16336 out on the 61.
34714 doing a couple of runs on the 66.

16355 has been repainted at the rear and lower sides. 34219/34220 are in the paint shop getting some much needed treatment! 16353 is currently up a height having its engine removed and that will then get put into 16351 as its in better nick.

Chorley 47331 ready for paint shop.

Working of the day and possible all year is Western have ALX300 22602 on service X75 in place of a Coach!

Careful Jonesy, you're turning into 07andrew!

I believe Wales 711D 41166 has been transferred into Manchester to replace 40660 which is burst.

Agree about the Leylands completely! We need to be on watch for them now as NW is down to just 9 operational examples (8 at KL, 1 at ME). The most ordinary (non-tri-axle) Leylands in use anywhere in the country...

Wethers is a good place spot with a pint, no question. But there's better pints out there

35246 doing Northside's this morning!
... extra B10M out somewhere possibly, or 34218 covering long dart duties (34218 hopefully getting fixed, driver telling me how fed up of its screeching engine whirl that they are getting now, not very pleasant from a passengers point of view )

In from Preston to Chorley..........47486 & 47487

Well that explains why we've had Versas working the 150/1 the last couple of days instead of 47486/87. Today we have 25225 and an 84 branded example on the route. Can't see which two buses will be allocated to the route next. Darts 32919 & 32925, Solos 47148 & 47149 and then 47486 & 47487 have been our past allocations, all with route branding. Looks like we're gona have a mix of vehicles types for the next few weeks/months (nothing new there then).

Preston's daily Solo route allocation is a joke (well their entire bus to route allocation is a mess). Having route branding is a waste of time and money as the right buses never seem to be on the right routes.

Anyone know the whereabouts of 47493. I've not heard much about the bus since it was at Carlisle to be re-painted following the loss of its W&G vinyls.

It's no longer at Carlisle!
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Typical! Not in Carlisle yesterday. The X75 has been a B10M-55 on several occasions in the last week or so. Wouldn't mind a thrash along the A75 in a B10M, but an ALX300! Even the thought of it is painful.

It has been on again today Annie. 20504 has been on quite a bit but the White Coach is still the regular with the odd 500 one thrown in. The P reg one still appears from time to time too.

For those who are interested I have just read that Preston Bus (Rotala Group) have 6 Optare Versa Hybrids on order. This may be common knowledge but it's the first I've heard of any of the new order going to PB.

It seems Rotala are hoping to gain the upper hand in Preston and it should be interesting to see how SC Preston react...

Also on the subject of PB the following fleet changes have/will occur(ed):

14533 (E323 MSG) Preston - sold to Wigley for scrap
14540 (E330 MSG) Preston - sold to York Pullman
14541 (E331 MSG) Preston - sold to York Pullman
14542 (E332 MSG) Preston - sold to York Pullman
18540 (V540 ESC) new to Preston (Ex Lothian)
18541 (V541 ESC) new to Preston (Ex Lothian)
18542 (V542 ESC) new to Preston (Ex Lothian)
18543 (V543 ESC) new to Preston (Ex Lothian)

I know this is no longer Stagecoach but I thought members may be interested.

According to Buses magazine it's actually 6 Solo Hybrids. They're due to replace 7 vehicles.

Incidentally 18540-3 were prepped by stagecoach Fife at Aberhill before heading south. In the recent past, out of interest, Stagecoach Fife also repainted some Volvo B7TL's for Lothian. The work on the Tridents for Rotala was just general engine work, cleaning, and MOT.

I'd originally heard it was 6 Solo SR Hybrids, replacing Solo's on the 19 to Royal Preston Hospital, but they might have changed it. Just like some Scottish depots were originally down for Enviro 200 Hybrids, but that is now being changed to Enviro 350 Hybrids.
