Hi all
I’m onboard the 1430 Kings Cross to Edinburgh from York where we were delayed departing for about 10 minutes. The TM announced that this was due to a broken down train just north of York station which has a fault affecting overhead wires in the York area.
I’m just wondering what kind of fault a unit could have that’d cause other trains to have power issues? It seems the issue is with 5E13 (802213 - unity) which I was on earlier when it failed (on diesel) at Huddersfield as it only had 1 operational engine/GU and was heading to the Scarborough route when it had the issue - could it have been to do with changing over power sources?
