Thanks for keeping us updated, a very fun read! Did it feel long, or was it fun throughout?
Routine on-time journey on Lumo, bringing an end to around 26 hours of train travel in 3 days, all trouble-free! Congratulations to LNER, Cross Country, GWR and Lumo!

Fair play. How much did all that set you back, if you don’t mind sharing?
Being in the same first class carriage as Mainliner in my opinion it was fun and definitely didn’t seem like 13hrs. By the end I’d chatted with all 8 in first even though we were widely separated seat-wise. I had some emergency food supplies from home and supplemented from the Coop on Union Street Aberdeen at 0715 ( note buy alcohol previously). The host Josh in first from ABD to Newcastle was Attentive, a nice coffee with coffee bag soon after boarding, the hot bacon roll soon after - as I’d had a hotel breakfast, I saved my bacon roll till around 10 then enjoyed another ( I requested) before Josh left. Lunchtime early for me- soon after noon- my home made pasta with an excellent bottle of Scottish Ale ( purchased prev night) .Thanks for keeping us updated, a very fun read! Thanks, fingers crossed. Worst case would be not getting off and then somehow delayed after St ErthIt's impossible to predict.
I worked it from Plymouth a couple of times last week and on the first night we were 3L into Penzance (and connected into the sleeper) but on the Friday we caught a late running Padd/Penzance IET up at Menheniot and followed it all the way to Hayle - where we sat for fully five minutes.
The St Erth signaller had a problem with the section signal which prevented the signal at the end of the platform from being cleared too so both had to be passed at danger - then we were held at Marazion for the sleeper to come off the single line from Penzance.
The one person on board looking to catch it rightly decided to get off at St Erth but it was cruel to be so close yet so far.
We eventually arrived into Penzance station 24L.
