Hi I was curious with how ATP works with stock on the GWML. I understand how it works on trains between London and Bristol. What happens with the ATP part when the trains go past there towards Plymouth etc if anyone can shed any light on this?

Believe on non-ATP areas the train just runs with AWS/TPWS as it would anywhere else. Open to correction though!

If an ATP fitted train travels beyond ATP areas, the ATP goes from full supervision (where it monitors speed limits, signals etc) to partial supervision. This only protects going over the max speed of the train.

Partial supervision also protects the train from roll backs
