Nope it won't go against you at all, in fact if you DONT bring your glasses and subsequently fail the vision element of the medical, then that's worse than bringing them with you and passing the vision test. I passed the vision test for mine but my right eyes vision was worse than my left eye and I was advised to get glasses anyway. Wearing glasses absolutely will not count against you though, don't worry about that.

I've had a couple of emails, then it gone all quiet. My pal works with them and says it's just a waiting game but who knows ‍♂️

I think it's also dependant on your depot. For example, a few lads I know are waiting for Waverley & Perth. The Waverley group have been waiting the longest, whereas the Perth ones have just received start dates. All progressed at a different pace but you will hear back regardless.

Hey all, I just heard back that I passed my DMI and am now moving on to the 2nd set of assessments and MMI interview.

I managed to get the tests off of a legend in here and I've been practicing them. Finding the ball and track and concentration test easy enough but the photo memory oones a bit hit or miss so I'm spending more time on that.

Any advice on MMI interview from anyone who has been recently would be really appreciate. The advice I got for DMI on here was brilliant and really helped

Congratulations on passing the DMI! The MMI usually consists of the same six core questions for everyone, based on key skills. When I completed my MMI the questions you'll find on this form were exactly what I got asked, just worded slightly different. You might also get a couple of hypotheticals depending on how your SJE went. Use STAR, stay calm, and show you're safety-focused and clear with comms. They will most definitely probe your answers too, so be ready to expand on your examples! Good Luck!

I'm practicing on the testing platform that you can buy online using a controller. I've got my right stick controlling vertical/up and down and the left stick controlling horizontal/left and right movements. Is that how the Scotrail testing is setup?

Im based in glasgow. DMI at central, which I assume is the depot. Going to message back for some clarification. If that means, were on the list for the next recruitment year. Or if its the case of waiting for someone to pull out this year.

Got mine tomorrow and have been studying, but just got back from holiday so not had a chance to visit a depot to speak to someone, which has me slightly worried also

I wouldn’t worry about not visiting a depot, almost all the information that you need can be found online or on this forum. I was also told to research routes and traction types which I did but in the end it didn’t come up but still interesting and handy knowledge to have.

It was mostly competency based questions along with a few scenarios thrown in.
