V37 has hit a tractor at Leominster.
Line currently shut.
Confirmed as not derailed but with the tractors trailer underneath the train.

Wishing.a speedy recovery to those injured and involved.

The BBC are reporting that the 8:30 TfW service from Man Picc to Cardiff (1V37 - https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:G55960/2025-05-22/detailed) has struck a tractor at Nordan Farm near Leominster - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cly3885e58no

Thoughts with everyone involved and that everyone is OK.

From the article:

A train has hit a tractor and trailer on a level crossing in Herefordshire, bringing rail services to a halt.
The train has not been derailed, but there were 56 passengers on board the Manchester-to-Cardiff train and a number of them are understood to have suffered minor injuries.
British Transport Police said six people were being assessed my medics.
Ambulance crews were called to an incident on the track at Nordan Farm, Leominster, just after 10:45 BST.
The air ambulance has been deployed, alongside land ambulances and paramedics.
Transport for Wales (TfW) said services had been stopped after the 08:30 from Manchester Piccadilly struck the vehicle on a crossing between Ludlow and Leominster.
National Rail said all lines were blocked between Hereford and Craven Arms, and services between those stations would be cancelled or changed, with disruption expected until 19:00.
A TfW spokeswoman urged people to check before travelling and said tickets would be accepted by other operators.
British Transport Police (BTP) said its officers were at the scene, alongside others from West Mercia Police, as well as fire crews.
A BTP spokesperson said inquiries were ongoing to better understand the circumstances leading up to the crash.

I believe the train involved is 67029/HD02.

No serious injuries apparently. RAIB are to investigate. I've been told theyre planning to evacuate passengers lineside rather than train to train evac.

Apparently the train struck the tractors trailer and it is stuck under the train, however the train itself hasn't derailed.

That will be a LHCS set out of action for a while.
Great news there where only minor injuries though.

This could see a dvt pulled from storage?
Counts on the condition of 82229 and if the spare one is okay! HD08 is on the horizon so that DVT isn't usable either.

That's just a stock image. It was the DVT that hit.

Image shows collision of a Transport for Wales Mark 4 set with a tractor/trailer.
Yikes! Hope the driver is okay and all passengers who have had reported injuries recover well. That DVT does look to have negated quite a lot of potential damage, unsure how severe the damage to the DVT is from that angle but by the looks of it the rest of the set is still in good condition.

All Mk4 sets (as a result of the accident) have been pulled from service today. HD03, HD05 and HD07 at Crewe now.
Any reason why? Unless there is some suggestion it was a fault with the train which cause the incident, which would seem unusual looking at the albeit limited information available so far.

Do you happen to know why?
When it comes to the MK4s they must be in the right positions at the end of the day and are based on the crew signing the traction. Sending them up and down will get them onto the wrong diagrams and will cause more trouble than it's worth. It's better to keep them stood down at their respective locations to make sure it's a smooth re-entry into service when the line reopens.

I don't know but would suggest it's possibly due to maintenance requirements, train crew knowledge and ease of operating dmus.
Exactly - my suspicion would be its less a case of them being "pulled", more a case of, given the levels of disruption, its a lot easier just to stand them down. Saves control a headache and means wherever crew happen to be, they can be keep trains moving.

Is there a difference between the sets that some crew sign some of them but not others?

Just practical reasons - the main route they work is blocked and switching them onto other duties gets complicated with train and crew diagrams.

BBC currently report one passenger airlifted to hospital, but injuries not thought to be life-threatening, and one woman taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious. The rest discharged at the scene.

From https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cly3885e58no:

One passenger, a man, was airlifted to Hereford County Hospital, although his injuries were not life-threatening, West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) said.

A woman was also taken to hospital by ambulance following the crash near Leominster at about 10:45 BST, although she is not thought to be seriously hurt.
Fifteen other people were checked over and discharged at the scene. The tractor driver was uninjured, the ambulance service added.

The trailer looks lightly loaded (silage?) and so suspect the outcome would have been worse striking the tractor itself.
