Greater Anglia Delay Repay - Did not stop at my station

I was on a train that did not stop at my station therefore I missed my connecting train. I had to proceed to the next station and it cost me £50 to get a taxi home. It was late at night and I felt safer doing this than waiting over an hour to go back and wait for the next connecting train (I live on a small branch line). Greater Anglia paid me £3.41 in compensation. I appealed twice but got nowhere with them. Any suggestions should this happen again, what I should do differently? Thanks.

Are you able to give details of the trains you took and the stations to give us a better idea here of the overall delay situation? There are various potential avenues but it depends on the exact delay in reaching the final destination if you had continued by train. Were you told why the service didn’t stop at your station?
