555016 + 555035
marks 21 Class 555s now.
Is there the updated fleet details? Thank you

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Seeing as 6Q23 flew through and beyond Latchmere Junction I am guessing the class 43s are a bit tricky ?. The alternative 20s might be easier gauge wise ?.

Consist seemed to be 20311 + 20302 - 555035 + 555016.
It came through Orpington Platform 2 rather fast, I am more sure on the 555s and did not spot any vandalism on the left/West side.

RTT link for 6Q23.
I wonder how come there’s such a large gap of number between? 016+035

My hunch is that 555035 might represent one of the most recent units in warm storage. Perhaps at the same location as 555015.

Also
There is a 5 unit gap between 555020 & 55021 to 555027 & 555028.
Then a six unit gap between 555027 & 555028 to 555035.
So such gaps are not abnormal.

Sorry for the delay in getting this done. A lot has changed with the 555 fleet since I last did one of these lists.

Thanks for doing the fleet status list.

All of a sudden I feel the end of production in sight !.

Odd that 555034 is still under construction - maybe it is being fettled, post storage, ready for delivery ?.
(that would make three pairs delivered with five stored units between each, OK I will lie down now).

T125 is an early evening back to the depot on a Saturday.

Was 121 and 101 last Sunday.

121,123,102,104,108 on Tuesday gone, but was 121,123,125,102 thurs/fri but I’m guessing that was down to the line closure. I think from Monday onwards we’l see a more steady occurrence of diagrams.

Don't know the unit ID but 106 was a 555 yesterday, saw it crossing the Tyne as I was arriving from the south on 1L42.

Finally been on a new 555 this week(555020) and they are impressive in terms of ride quality and comfort especially in the underground sections.

It's ashame the seats feels like sitting on those school benches mind but I do accept regulation and most people won't be on them that long should mean it shouldn't be too much of an issue but in comparison to the seats on the old fleet, I know what I rather sit on.

On a side note, I noticed some metrocars(4004 and 4015 being the ones I saw) are lower than the metrocar they are paired with, I know when units are going for scrap they are lower but I can't recall the reason for it, it's something I never noticed with units in service before.

555007 operating T125 today.

Edit: 555007 has had the ‘new metro’ posters removed from the advertising spaces along the ceiling.

T121 was 555003 I think, T123 was metrocars with 4047 on St James end, T102 was 555021 and T104 555006

555018/032 seen at St Margrethen parked up in the station. These should be the next two to arrive, next week I believe.

Wouldn’t read too much into it. 555017/555031 were seen in the same place the same amount of time before the last delivery, only for 555016/555035 to be the pair that arrived in the UK instead.

Just had my first trip on one of the ones, 555007 leaving Airport around 5pm to Sunderland.

The metro itself was smooth riding, accelerating and braking.

The seats are the most uncomfortable I have ever user, there is literally zero padding and the seat backs are very upright.

I guess the new ones are designed to handle large numbers of passengers doing relatively short journeys, but no allowance has been made for longer journeys or airport luggage. It's almost an hour from Airport to Sunderland.... And there are even longer journeys as well.

Shame that all the experts couldn't come up with a design that covered both of these markets.

Yep the seats are disappointing, wasn't expecting them to be so firm even by modern day standards of thin seats. I might be wrong but I'm sure in the initial design stages, the seats were going to be leather(as they are easier to clean) but dropped for fabric with no thickness whatsoever.

Great trains but ruined from choices by both passengers(if those surveys are to be believed) and Nexus/Stadler in terms of the seating design itself. Thankfully my time on these trains won't be frequent.

I wouldn’t go so far as “ruined” but the seating is certainly suboptimal. It’s been done to death so I won’t go on, but I’m not at all convinced the passenger surveys were truly representative.

They’re still great trains though as you say, and a massive upgrade over the Metrocars.

Still only two units at a time?
That is because the 555s themselves are actually unbraked in the delivery train due to incompatible couplers. The braking is provided by two wagons and the adapter wagon at both ends of the units with an air hose running through the 555s.

I take it these numbers are those that are on POP app

Are the numbers 'fixed' ie to a certain train ?

Looking on the app now, the 5 nearest trains to my local station are .. 131,130,122,102,154.

Which numbers represent the new trains please ?
