Do not travel warning from Chiltern!

My wife and I live in High Wycombe (HWY) and had tickets for a motorcycle show in London yesterday and had already got my ticket, my wife has a season ticket. I saw the Chiltern posts about not travelling so we travelled up extra early, on the 06:10 from HWY which comes from Aylesbury, a very...

Photo on a Foot Crossing, Thoughts.

This is a copy of a photo shared by a local newspaper, what are peoples thoughts, personally I think it's wrong. Taken on a foot crossing on the line from Bourne End to Marlow https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=bucks%20free%20press

Nuneham Viaduct shut - Didcot- Oxford

Having been sat at High Wycombe for some time, stopped just north of the station, 6M78 has just pulled away. I could see it from my house.

Nuneham Viaduct: what alternative provision could be provided?

I would imagine that most of it was because of the WCML, but I spoke to some people that had come over to High Wycombe from Slough, Maidenhead and Reading to travel to Birmingham and further north on XC services from Banbury avoiding the problems between Didcot and Oxford. I've seen some...

Nuneham Viaduct: what alternative provision could be provided?

My wife and I travelled from High Wycombe to Aylesbury yesterday and saw the 10:10 Marylebone-Birmingham which was an absolutely rammed 5 car, 2+3, with some people unable to get on.

Marylebone closed on 9/9 due to tunnel "defect"

My wife and I travelled from High Wycombe to Marylebone, we had intended to travel on the 07:51. The station was reasonably busy with people wanting to travel north and a good few waiting for information about services to West Ruislip. The station staff were getting very little info, but were...

    Brexit matters

I work for a manufacturing company, and a large part of our work came from the EU, sadly since Brexit we've seen our orders from the EU drop by 40%, the work is there but companies just wont order from the UK now. Talking with suppliers it is the same story across the board, we get regular...

Will the jubilee line be quicker than crossrail for those travelling from NW London to Excel Centre

There may be a 3rd option. Chiltern to Marylebone, Bakerloo to Paddington then Crossrail to Custom House.

    Lochty Private Railway Documentary

Well done, I enjoyed that. I visited the LPR in the seventies, although after no.9 had left, it was good to see the story of how 'The Lochty' came about.

Did you buy anything from Collectors Corner?

I bought a cab door from 55007 Pinza from there, along with a con rod from a deltic engine.

    Old St Pancras platforms

Marylebone also had a wide cab road, it was where the current platforms 2 and 3 are.

    Air Con trouble

The Chiltern 165's have varied from being like a freezer to being in a furnace.

Chiltern wanting to get hold of new stock

I seem to remember someone from Chiltern saying that they couldn't order more 172's as the engines didn't meet new emissions regulations. I use Chiltern a lot, and my wife commutes to Marylebone, and they certainly do need more stock, 3 or 4 car 168's on Birmingham trains aren't enough, so...

    Eurostar Help Please

The front coach from Brussels is fine for beating the queue at St Pancras as most people use the travellator to go down, walk past the front of the train and there are escalators, I always use these and have always found them quicker.
