Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

1-10 had them fitted from new, 31-50 were delivered with the brackets in place but never had the screens installed. I don't remember if 11-30 ever had the screens.

It was FJ11MMF, a Caetano bodied Volvo B9R and it spent almost as much time broken down as it did out in service.

When the 43 first started up in 2017 it ran from Central using 928-936 and was driven by single deck drivers.

    Abandoned Cars. Your experiences...

That wouldn't be this one, would it?

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Moredunvale Road is pretty easy, you just have to swing it out a bit, the issue on the 8 is the left turn from Pilton Drive North onto Boswall Parkway because the single piece of fence on the corner combined with the traffic islands makes it extremely tight for a triaxle. It is doable, but...

Scots Gov wants to remove bus passes for anti-social behaviour

In theory, it was. But reporting them and then finding out who it was takes far too much time and effort, so nobody really bothered.

Bright car headlights, dazzling - any options for me?

It seems like matrix LED headlights aren't very good at identifying larger vehicles. I'm assuming they work out what parts to turn off based on where the oncoming lights are which is fine for cars and vans, but with buses and especially trucks where you sit so much higher up than where the...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

The problem with stop start city work is that the repeated acceleration (quite often at full throttle during the day) means the gearboxes are working harder than they would be on longer distance work where they'd be sitting in the same gear for longer distances and consequently the turbo also...

    Motorway services discussion

The pub is no longer there, having closed a few months ago, and has been replaced by the West Cornwall Pasty Co and a small KFC. There's a BP petrol station for cars with both petrol and diesel available, while lorries have their own forecourt in the lorry park.

    Newest preserved buses

It was one of the two that were used for the SuperBus tour in Edinburgh and is still in that livery.

I think the 2009 Geminis were the last buses to have a night door fitted. The 2011 batch were definitely specced without and I'm fairly sure the 2010 Airlink ones didn't have it either.

    MOT classes for buses

Buses are class 6, goods vehicles are class 7.

    Mornington Crescent

As it's the last Friday of May and we're using Purdah rules, I thought that by combining a Corbett twist with a half McVitie and changing at Leicester Square I could have made it, but alas it has taken us to Camden Town instead.

    Bus Manufacturer News & Discussion

I wouldn't be surprised if it's easier and/or cheaper to get hold of an Iveco wheel than an Optare one.
