Birmingham - Banbury - Heyford via Oxford?

Hi All So I recall hearing that one can double back on certain routes a long time ago, and wondered if the route mentioned (Birmingham New St - Banbury - Heyford) is valid if we went and did a Break of Journey at OXF (where we actually want to go), or have those loop-holes been closed now...

Voting for our Railway Preservation donation

Well done to Swindon Panel As an aside: for those of you who feel so negatively: why not go and volunteer for the project/projects you wanted to win, or alternatively offer to set up a standing order/direct debit donation? Thought so, there's always next year where your cause can win funds...

    Northern Duo

My wife and I are going to Harrogate in a few weeks, and are planning a Day trip to York, and possibly an evening trip to Leeds. I'd suggest you buy the All zones North Wales Rover, as it is valid from Shrewsbury/Chester westwards, and offers a 50% reduction on fares on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland. I'd also suggest looking at Dave Sallery's excellent site which gives itineraries that can be used.

    Disabled RC

Yes, both of them get 1/3rd off the fare. My wife has one so I travel on hers.

    Cardiff central station

The Tourist Information Centre in the City Centre (by St David's Shopping Centre) has lockers that you can use, I think it's £3 for them.

    Welsh automated announcements

(woo! first post!) None of the stations operated by Arriva in the North and Mid Wales regions have bilingual announcements. I wish they did, as there are plenty of Welsh speakers in that area, I'm quite surprised Cymdeithas Yr Iaith hasn't protested about the lack of Welsh Language...
