With a reported 10000 applications the chances are your applications/answers were not even sifted by a human, they can simply put job filters to filter the jobs/backgrounds that they want people coming from, therefore if your background/job does not match the ones they have put to filter out...

It went quiet because the rejection emails went out this week.... hence the silence.

This is the best advice anyone can give on a rail application, listen take note, go about your daily lives instead of refreshing an email 100 times a day. At the end of the day it’ll probably go to a ex forces, policemen or one of their other favoured backgrounds anyway.

You know how many people make the grade from each round of recruitment, you do have to be in it to win it but I do feel some people are waiting daily by emails knowing there’s thousands of people who have applied some better suited for the role and some not, things are never quick on the...

Not negative but being realistic... don’t get the two mixed up...

Probably will be 2021 until anyone does a assessment for the July applications going by the pace they are working at.

Unfortunately thats one life gone, and I think if you didn’t pass the computer element you have to resit them all again next time.

It seems they send the application form to everyone who submits a cv, I wonder why they don’t have it as the first step to begin with...

With so many applicants it will come down to as always about your previous experience and how it relates to train driving, you can live 10 minutes away if your background is not suitable you won’t be invited. I assume the application form is filtered through a computer system to check key words...
