    Unite Network Rail Strikes Off

If some TSSA/unite members thought that accepting the offer would mean they had the pay increase paid straight away then they have seriously misunderstood or have been incorrectly briefed.

Elizabeth line workers vote to take strike action

Yes, which is a legacy of the old nationalised Central Electricity Generating Board - all employees of which were public servants, hence why certain grades of staff in electricity sector would still be represented by prospect (which was formed from EMA and IPMS)

Elizabeth line workers vote to take strike action

It's odd why Elizabeth line traffic controllers and incident response staff are covered by the prospect union? What is the history/reason for this? (Prospect's main membership is civil service scientists/technical staff)

Is this change going to apply to all NR signaller 12hr rosters by Jan 2023?

    A career as a signaller

Yes, I applied for a job yesterday and received no email - but later in the day I saw the "thanks for applying email" in the "emails sent to you" at the bottom of the dashboard. Its worrying if emails aren't coming as the HR team also use the "zendesk" email for correspondence relating to...

I think the NR careers site is playing up - a couple of emails sent to me from the "zendesk" address are showing on the NR careers dashboard, but never actually arrived in my email (spam checked etc)

RMT announce strike dates across range of TOCs and Network Rail

As someone who in a previous life was very involved in national level contingency planning, you have a naïve view of how prepared the Government are for any civil contingency situation.

Couple of questions for some external jobs out there at the moment : 1.) Anyone know what shifts the grade 4 desks at Derby ROC (EMCC) work? I know EMCC used to be a mix of 12s or 8s depending on desk. 2.) There is a job out for South Wales signallers...

It's all to do with it being a taxable benefit in kind. Some references at: https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/network-rail-office-hq-jobs.118679/ And https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/network-rail-staff-privileges.108745/

It actually works out about 50% discount due to tax reasons I believe. As an aside does anyone know if the discount can be used to buy tickets it London that include the travel card element?

    LNER 3rd Party TOC agreements

I would be wary of "I asked the guard and he said it was fine to travel for free" scenario. I know someone who did just that (and indeed guard was happy) and ended getting reported by barrier staff at the destination station following a long intercity journey.

    Train delay attributor

Much like signallers its depends on the location - some areas NR delay staff work 8hr shifts.

What's the longest record of a late running train in recent years?

The 444 that got stuck in the new forest overnight during snow a couple of years back must be close to the record on the south western.
