Had this on the way home to Hadfield once and the signalling tried to route us into Ardwick and the other 323 that left after us was routed how we should have been and came to a stop along side us as both us and the ECS questioned routing.
If your ticket shows a route "LNER and Connections", you will be reserved on to all necessary LNER trains and connecting trains of other companies at the time of booking. Please note that if you take connecting trains other than those shown on your ticket, your ticket won't be valid.
At Bradford Interchange there is the facility to do manual ones but I think places like Halifax/New Pudsey/Hebden Bridge etc the equipment was taken out the booking offices ages ago.
Long Line announcers (based at York now instead of Leeds AFAIK) would normally make manual announcements unless they had relevant pre recorded ones available. But Yeah, The s&c on the Calder Valley line isn't as high tech as it really should be although this should change when the Northern Hub...

If i'm stopped a while I always take a peek to see what's happening :D But I do remember. Its awful for doing it at the junction there as a tram coming the other way managed to get across but it wouldn't allow us for some reason. But aye I remember well...
