    Decriminalise ticket offences?

The corroboration thing is more like the current battle is over but the war isn't won yet, the government have a big event in September and don't want any issues at present. I also think if you took northern's stance you would only catch unintentional fare evaders, anyone who regularly breaks...

    Decriminalise ticket offences?

Well yes corroboration is required at present but the Scottish government are trying to change that, I've got close family in the legal profession and the lectures on the importance of corroboration could bore you to tears!

    Decriminalise ticket offences?

On the Scots courts issue, most rail company's down south use evidence from a statement and inference can be drawn on a 'no comment'. Under Scots law no inference can be drawn from 'no comment', making it extremely difficult to prove beyond reasonable doubt hence why every regular offender in...

    Scotrail Trainee Drivers (Ongoing)

Regarding the second online test I did it on my laptop and don't have a mouse so used the finger pad instead. For anyone in future always use a mouse! I know I didn't get to answers in time because of the stupid pad was ready to throw the laptop out the window after it, luckily got an email this...

You do not have to say anything but...

Hate to say this but if it goes as far as a lawyer they specialise in taking apart prosecution witness's, some idiot RPI will get eaten by a defence lawyer. Defence lawyers take apart witness's especially police officers, social workers etc an RPI will be a lamb to the slaughter and any train...

You do not have to say anything but...

Firstly lawyers who work in deprived areas work off legal aid, apparently with changes to the legal aid system in 2002 roughly means its really not financially worth it. So that point is irrelevant. Also I if I was to be done for something don't need to pay for a lawyer I get a very committed...

You do not have to say anything but...

Just to add I have a very experienced defence lawyer in my close immediate family, his advice is always keep your mouth shut till you speak to a lawyer in regards to anything most questioning takes place due to a lack of evidence and so is a fishing expedition. Obviously they can't act for...

You do not have to say anything but...

Sorry always forget that English law allows interpretation from a no comment, I personally still would keep quiet till having taken legal advice from someone like yourself. Basic rule of Scots law regarding anything is no comment as inference isn't relevant.

You do not have to say anything but...

This will annoy certain members I'm sure but the simple answer when being questioned/interviewed/casual chat by an official over anything not just railway related give your identity, dob then shut up! Police are pretty poor at catching actual hardened criminals because they're automatic response...

What to wear to a Recruitment Event

I didn't get an invite either so I went back to check how long it took me to reply, a grand total of 4 hours. Usually I'd say I'm disappointed but unless I randomly had a Thursday off and was watching my email account like a hawk OR was unemployed OR farting about in work doing personal stuff...

Amount of cash raised by TOC's in fines and UPN's etc

As an individual who works with the public who are for the most part pretty stupid when in large crowds I have to say I find the cynical nature of this forum in general with regards to ticketing worrying. People post on here for advice and as sure as the sun will set a post will come up...

Amount of cash raised by TOC's in fines and UPN's etc

I realised you were talking about London buses but maybe it's just a different attitude to life between glasgow and London. Glasgow is a confused city though murder capital of Europe yet wins friendliest city in Britain, a contradiction wrapped inside an enigma. I think scotrail has good...

Amount of cash raised by TOC's in fines and UPN's etc

In my 30years in Glasgow I have to say I've never seen anyone refuse to pay the other passengers tend to see to that its the Celtic nation crack 'ah now your pushin it attitude'. Have to say though that I think assaulting a member of staff would be dealt with severely in a court sheriffs don't...

Amount of cash raised by TOC's in fines and UPN's etc

A little harsh as I said I always buy my ticket for my journey and for you to suggest otherwise is a little insulting its probably that kind of thinking that means you assume everybody's a thief. Kinda sad state of society people thinking the worst of people automatically. On the positive...
