As well as being interested in trains among other things I am a Sheffield Wednesday fan. I have just come accross this train related topic from the Owlstalk forum.
I went for the 150 as I remember them shiny brand new when I was a kid coming to replace the 101's. So maybe a soft spot for them.
The 156 is a train I really cant stand, mainly down to the ridiculous legroom that makes Voyagers and Pendolinos look positively generous.
Rage against the machine - Rage against the machine.
Just got to celebrate the great victory for non manufactured music with killing in the name of getting to number 1:D
Yuck!!
Last weekend I went on an East Coast MK4 train from York to London for the first ever time. I still think the MK3 carriages are nicer but the MK4 ones are still miles better than the pendolino ones.
As has been mentioned before I find the pendolinos cramped and smelly, plus the...
The best way to cut road accidents for me is to make penalties for dangerous driving harsher.
Drink driving should result in a two year ban and if repeated a lifetime ban and your car taken off you to be sold with the profits going into road safety schemes.
Also instead of police obsession...

We went on holiday to the USA in May and flew with BA in club world using BA miles to upgrade from the world...
You do have to wonder don't you:lol:
I don't know what it is but there is something practically every single time I go on them.
I have been on about 8 HST's and around 40 185's as well as various Northern trains in the same time scale and only had one problem and that was on the TPE 185...
More education in schools about the dangers and maybe children/people tresspassing on the lines should be dealt with more severly.
Other than that I am not sure what else can really be done.
I have been on Pendolinos a lot this year and it seems every single time I go on one there is always something wrong with them.
Take Saturday just gone for example. We were sat in coach A and the door from the seating area to the van area kept opening and shutting rather loudly, but the best...
I have not really read the details about why the strike is being called but today I read in a paper that BA cabin crew are on twice the amount of Virgin cabin crew.
If that is really the case I am not sure why they feel the need to strike, especially with the damage it will cause for the...
I prefere using East Coast as I like the layout. However I always look at the train operators website incase there is a discount with them.
For example going with Southern from London Victoria to Portsmouth Habour was £3 if booked on Southerns site or £5 if booked on other operators sites.
