    Train fare

What on Earth are you talking about? He specifically said that he was accused of travelling to Marylebone instead of Euston and that's "committing fraud". I don't appreciate this type of rudeness. I'm supposed to know there's another thread, that is the same person and that he bought a ticket...

    Train fare

Seems a bit extreme that travelling to Marylebone is "committing fraud". Is this an issue of buying a ticket valid from another station closer to London and then choosing the "wrong" Wembley station?

Name Calling & Fraud Allegation on GTR

Why not show your season ticket? That would have surely ended the conversation. As soon as you point out the season to London Terminals this extension ticket makes much more sense. Even though you have no need to prove your innocence.

Proof of past railcard purchases requested by Northern

Good luck. Truly awful way for these companies to act.

Proof of past railcard purchases requested by Northern

This seems preposterous. I buy tickets for my parents with Senior Railcards often - am I to expect a letter soon? If you feel the need to engage with them and send them what you think you owe, well, that's up to you but by adding up all of your "questionable purchases" into one big settlement...

Why do some people get frustrated when their ticket doesn't get checked when travelling by train?

Never annoyed/frustrated but the checking of a ticket is just seen as a feeling that there is someone on the train that is watching over the journey. It's annoying there are three or four staff at Hastings station checking tickets "after the event" but, maybe, a 25% chance of your ticket checked...

LNER Advance fare oddity: cheaper to travel further

Sounds like a local newspaper story waiting to happen.

email from Greater Anglia re travel irregularity

What we have learnt here is that travelling only one stop seems to ignite a mass of intelligence by the TOC to deal with the action via an illiterate email. I travel from Rye to Appledore all the time - does this mean I will get "the electronic knock" soon ? I mean, does it ever occur to some on...

Guard has drawn all over my ticket

It's this attitude that there is only the "occasional honest customer" and we can be somehow prejudged by Southeastern. How is this repeat abuse spotted ?

Guard has drawn all over my ticket

It just got me thinking - it's all very well saying to the guard that I'm only going as far as "X" today but I didn't know that at the time - and, in any event even if he did mark it, I would not think twice about breaking my journey and continuing another day with said mark (because they don't...

Guard has drawn all over my ticket

Never seen it before - I've been hole-punched, date written - but not a massive cross and obscuring of the expiration date (it was green marker so you can still just see the date)

Guard has drawn all over my ticket

I travelled on the return portion of a Esher to Rye ticket this morning. I got checked on the Clapham Junction to Hastings leg - on the second check the guard took my ticket and punched it with a train-shaped hole, additionally crossed out the return date expiry of August 16th and then filled...

Platform boards at Newcastle and NR app show 15 min delay but train actually only 1 min delayed: who is responsible?

So you advocate that Lumo gets paid from their unused Lumo Advance ticket. Unused due to the apparent ineptitude.Strange double standards.

Ways to reduce the costs of commuting by rail.

"booked in advance" being the key point. It seems a little unfair to compare walk up train fares to booked in advance flights and coaches.

Ways to reduce the costs of commuting by rail.

How would you be getting to the airport for this cheap flight?
