    trivia oldest and newest together

Are there any where the coaches are older than the locos? I've seen a few photos of say a B1 or B17 hauling ex-GCR or ex-MSL carriages.

Sheffield Supertram & Tram Train news

Even that would be a vast improvement on the bus service.

Trivia: Rarest BR locos to survive into preservation

DMU wise - Metrocammell Lightweights, and classes 112, 113 & 125. EMUs would be a much longer list, but some extinct classes are: 304, 305, 506.

Class 77 were a rare class - 7 built. 3 have survived into preservation - a good survival rate.

Trivia: Rarest BR locos to survive into preservation

    Pacers on Long Distance Routes

    Pacers on Long Distance Routes

I did the Leeds-Sheffield section of that route, thankfully on a 144 though. I NEVER would have done it on a Merseyrail 142, I'd gone for a different service.

    Pacers on Long Distance Routes

Depends on the pacer and the refurb it had (or not as the case may be). Merseyrail Pacers, anything over 5 minutes duration was torture.

Beeching Cuts and the Big Four

Which perhaps accounts for the ex-Southern losing the least under Beeching perhaps, as it had been tackled pre-Nationalisation?

    Where has a 195 been?

I can confirm they've been on the Penistone Line, I've travelled on one in service, it was a Sunday. I believe the last service out of Leeds to Sheffield via Westgate is almost always a 195.
