    Ember: Electric coach service

This press release implied that CDG bought out Stagecoach a few years ago. Did that not go through? Apologies if veering too off-topic. https://www.comfortdelgro.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Media-Release-CDG-Set-to-Become-UK-Second-Largest-Coach-Operator-with-Latest-Acquisition_Gp-1.pdf

    Ember: Electric coach service

Isn’t Scottish Citylink now owned by ComfortDelGro?

    Scotrail Super Off-Peak

I should have said ticket office or on-train. These kinds of notices about ‘buy before you board’ are now rather misleading when super off-peak is available from conductors but not ticket vending machines. Is it still the case that conductors shouldn’t sell off-peaks if customers could have...

    Scotrail Super Off-Peak

That reply makes no sense - it’s not like a consessionsry fare that’s only available to select people, but a fare available to all. Did you follow up? The app should really show the fare and highlight that it’s only available from ticket offices (if they insist on restricting sales this way...

    Flixbus Discussion

I suspect you’re right about the Inchinnnan depot being a big part of the logic here. Is the 090 Glasgow - Edinburgh services run out of Livingston rather than Inchinnan? I suppose that would explain it if so. (Incidentally, prefixing service numbers with leading 0s just looks odd!).

Partially covered above, but more details on the coverage of Glasgow Airport. “Services between Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth, Stirling and Glasgow Airport will be available eight times a day from 17 April.” Source...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

TFL’s system just says the name of the stop without ‘next stop’. In urban areas with stops every minute or two, reducing the number of words makes sense. Less important on routes with less frequent stops where the ‘next stop’ audio makes more sense to alert people to start paying attention.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

I saw the same today. Is the plan to replace them with standard Lothian double deckers? Or repaint the existing ones and keep their extra luggage capacity? Those services having standard fares is really good, an unusual bonus.

    I assume you're thinking of this - https://lellep.xyz/blog/edinburgh-bus-stop-analysis.html

    ScotRail Tap and Pay App

I like the idea of retrospective pricing - if just for the option of not knowing if you'll return in peak or not (and not have to deal with excesses, that almost nobody knows about anyway!). However, I can't help feel that linking this to a Smartcard (or, ideally, just a contactless...

    Scotrail Super Off-Peak

I suppose Advances have greater restrictions, but they're also very easy to understand - 'booked train only', not unlike almost (?) all coach/plane etc tickets. Super Off-Peak is a new concept in Scotland and the restrictions are very strict, especially where the 5 hour evening peak applies. I...

    Scotrail Super Off-Peak

Thanks - this makes a lot of sense, but does point to those restrictions being too harsh/complicated perhaps? Something like 1030-1530 and 1830 onwards would seem a lot more reasonable. Having to buy in-person is one thing, but it doesn't seem right that it isn't shown as an option on journey...

    Scotrail Super Off-Peak

Before the ‘off peak all day’ trial, Scotrail Short Off-Peak tickets were only available on app as m-tickets and on Smartcard. They were withdrawn during the off-peak all day trial and are supposed to be back now - but apparently only to purchase at ticket offices and on-train staff where...

    Megabus Discussion

Just noticed this now.- the website is much closer to the Citylink one. Confusingly, the destinations let you choose local stops within Scotland (e.g. Edinburgh Corstorphine and not just Edinburgh Bus Station), but the results show the Citylink services with 'Fare Not Available'. Not...

Edinburgh & The Lothians Council Tender Services

Spotted a 13 in Bright Bus AirPort Express livery today. A change from the occasional CityLink livery under Edinburgh Coach Lines.
