I can confirm that yesterday we were told that there are back to back courses lined up and they have moved driver managers into the academy to keep the courses moving and to avoid any delays.
Keep your ears and eyes peeled on emails/voicemails!
Yes I agree with the above post, I wanted to thank you all again for your experience and insights, it’s helped make things a little more clear!
Back to the books! (Again)
;)
We are currently going through training at the moment and we spoke to some of the managers last week.
One of the managers told us that he has X amount of depot positions to fill due to mainline promotion and retirement and that the course before ours, our course and the course due behind us...
Yes Jimmy are you correct. Stage 4 is pass or fail, no enhancements.
The MMI is probably the hardest part of stage 4. It can be quite intense, my best advice would be to think of scenarios in your past life which would demonstrate the skills required by a train driver and drill them into your...
Hi guys and girls,
I wondered if any experienced drivers could draw some insight into SPAD’s and sackable offences due to mistakes etc on the railway.
I myself, am lucky enough to be going through trainee driver training at the moment (only week 1 so far and really enjoying it).
One thing...
Just to touch on what Dynamonic mentioned, those of us who went through the process first also had a delay from when we found out. I found out that I had made it through to the next stage before some others did on here and they had the same nerves and anxiety you must be feeling now.
A day or...
The worst bit is sitting around waiting for the email to pop through and avoiding checking your emails every hour!
Try to put the day out your mind now, there’s nothing worse than sitting there thinking “I should have said this, why did I say that” as it’s totally out of your control now!
Well done to all that took part in Stage 2 today. I personally found the speed interview one of the hardest elements of the process.
Those lucky enough to go ahead to Stage 3 with the DMI please don’t worry too much, the DM’s were absolutely lovely.
Good luck!
Top tip is to not get in your head too much as you line up outside to do the speed interviews. Focus on the question at hand and don’t get distracted, the room is very busy and there are about 5 other people also answering questions so it’s easy to get distracted. It lasts one minute for each...
Just wanted to let the guys know who are on the March course that my urine results have come back and I received an email from Marie confirming I’ve passed the medical.
AAAAANDDD BREATH!
Finally, the last stage is over! I’m so blooming excited! I hope you other guys have heard something back.
They wanted you to circle the two shapes that are the same and ignore the other combinations whilst counting the tones (only one tone on that stage if I remember correctly).
Did you get through the shapes whilst managing to count the tones?
For all the hopefuls going through stage 1 at the moment, if the timelines are anything like ours who have just completed the process, expect to be informed if you are successful at each stage once all of the candidates have completed that stage. Therefore if you take it on Monday and the final...
