Strike in France 17/18 Feb, impact on Eurostar?

A quick update. Your appraisal and information was extremely useful, and my daughter and family were able to change their plans to avoid the strikes and the melee. Thank you.

Strike in France 17/18 Feb, impact on Eurostar?

My daughter and family are travelling on the 17th London Paris, and then Paris Lyon also on the 17th. Eurostar should be ok but on to Lyon, I can't see what they can do. Any advice on options would be much appreciated

Britain's infrastructure is too expensive - Railways, Trams, and Roads all cost more to build in Britain

Maybe strict adherence to agreed design freeze dates would help a lot too. I did this, eventually, to my wife when I bought a piece of land at auction in 1977 and built a house for us. She devoured my contingency in one fell swoop and then came back for more !

Britain's infrastructure is too expensive - Railways, Trams, and Roads all cost more to build in Britain

I'm sorry, I'm not suggesting for one moment that democratic oversight should be removed, simply asking the politicians to state their views at the begining of the construction planning and design process, not after the Public Enquiry, and after the contracts are let and shovels have gone into...

Britain's infrastructure is too expensive - Railways, Trams, and Roads all cost more to build in Britain

One of the major problems we have in the UK with the procurement of all major infrastructure, roads, railways, trams, water, power generation, power transfer, and airports is the fact that these projects take 20 years from concept to copletion. Unfortunately our goverment has a 5 year horizon...

    Best Android E Ticket App?

Ok thanks - I've now set up folders for various trips and transferred the relevant PDF tickets to the folders. I also renamed the downloads to reflect the journey. That's easier to sort and find. Cheers

    Best Android E Ticket App?

Thanks - I didn't know that, so that's very useful. Yes you're right The Inverness to Plockton leg is purely Scotrail. I've already booked the sleeper to Inverness, and the Inverness to Edinburgh leg on The Highland Chieftain, along with Edinburgh back to King's X. The ScotRail sleeper...

We had 4 digital train tickets, 2 digital NHS Covid passports (required to get into the stadium), and 2 digital WRU match...

    Best Android E Ticket App?

I've recently been booking a couple of trips involving multiple E tickets. I'm looking for an Android ticket app, one which is reliable, user friendly, which maybe has sections where I can group and file the tickets for different future trips easily. For example, in May we're taking the...

Where are the Unreserved Seats on GWR 800s ?

I'm travelling on the 10.48 (1B11) from Paddington to Cardiff on Saturday 6th November with seat reservations. A colleague is boarding without a reservation and this will be a very heavily loaded train, it's the Wales v South Africa rugby match in Cardiff that day. Are there plans available...
