    HNRC Swietelsky

The white & blue (and orange) you mention was an adapted livery based on that of the machines' original owners - First Engineering - white, purple and green. https://www.ontrackplant.com/photo/73916 https://www.ontrackplant.com/photo/dr73916-1 Since ~2015 Swietelsky/SBRail's livery for both new...

"Could they?" Yes, technically. Here is a standard explaining what their limitations are... https://www.rssb.co.uk/standards-catalogue/CatalogueItem/cop0037-iss-3 It includes a list of every machine authorised to haul/rescue trains

TfW class 398 Stadler Citylink tram trains

398006 was in the shed at Taffs Wells depot on Thursday, taking the total there up to three. Not sure when it arrived- maybe Tuesday or Wednesday?

TfW class 398 Stadler Citylink tram trains

Very minor correction - these (and other recent Stadler/Vossloh/CAF rail vehicles) are coming through "Royal Portbury Dock", not "Avonmouth". (Both part of the wider "Bristol Port" but important to differentiate)

321448 (this was the one pictured at Lackenby) was scrapped at Booths in late 2021/early 2022. 321437 (think this was also earmarked for the project?) scrapped at Booths in July 2021.

    PPM35 (Class 139)

there's also a lot of information on trainlogger beyond the tiny snippet you posted - reading all of the comments on its record and looking at the recent sightings/photos would indicate that it's still at Long Marston

Linsinger SF06-UK Rail Milling Trains Authorised to Enter Service

i believe that is the case. Also think "327 000-2" should actually also be "327 001-2"

    Class 195/331 delivery dates

Some new carriages have been visible at Portbury since Monday. There seems to be at least 3, maybe more - it's hard to tell from the M5 over ridge whilst moving!

    British Traction in Foreign Liveries

You're correct - The open day picture was at Crewe IEMD in October 1994; amongst which seven brand new 92s were on display and the three spruced up 90s. The Freightconnection show the locos were repainted for was in 1992.

Brake vans: are they still used?

Meanwhile, further into South Wales, the unpowered half of an old Geismar multi-purpose vehicle is used by Colas Rail for similar purpose on the log trains between Briton Ferry and Baglan sidings. Haven't seen a photo of it in action though.

    Class 387

There was a Derby-Bletchley delivery run last night (http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/R03313/2016/09/01/advanced) - does anyone know if it was 387135 or 387137 (or both?) please? Thanks!
